For Polly's On The Edge mixed media challenge. An educated guess told me that after work all I'd want to do was go to bed, so I got up early and got most of this ready in the morning.
The base layer is, I think, actually just some scratch paper which had part of Medallion stamped in brown with a hard edge, and some blue spritzing with ink. But I'd always liked the look of it, so it came out of my scrap box this morning, and I tore two edges to make it just a little smaller than my card base.
Then I stamped the script in Smokey Grey and stencilled the leaves in two greens, using a stencil cut from a Spellbinders foliage die.
I tore all round the edges of my last piece from TLC699 String Theory, and brushed them with chalk. Technically that was an old unused tool for yesterday's challenge, I haven't used my Pebbles chalks for a long time (usually use chalk pastels) and the little cotton balls were disintegrating in the crocodile clip. I sprayed it with fixative, and tied a scrap of frayed cheesecloth around before popping it up on foam dots.
The flowers and leaf all came out of the little dish of oddments on my desk - I cut a line along the hard edge of the medallion stamp and tucked them under it.
The bird is cut from a piece of cling-wrap background with Brushos, and embossed before giving him a white eye and gold beak and popping him up on foam. Oh - after I reverse masked a circle and stamped the music in Smokey Grey.
The base was dusted with chalk, sprayed with fixative and then stencilled with white paint through drywall mesh tape.
Last of all I stamped the sentiment...
Thanks for a really fun challenge, Polly.

Your collage is very pretty! I like how you used what you had at hand and assembled them. That little bird is my favorite..the texture adds a realistic look to it. Rest up

What a cool look putting the torn edge around your string art!
Fun collage and love the little die cut bird that looks mesmerized by the string art calla lily

My eye was first drawn to your string art....really lovely. The other "assembled elements" all go to make a very artistic and interesting card, Sabrina.
