Default MIX261: On The Edge (1/26/18)

Challenge Title: On The Edge
Hostess: peeps321 (Polly)
Keyword: MIX261

I recently saw this post on the PaperArtsy blog that jumped out at me. The designer used torn edges on her projects. She actually burned her edges which looked really cool. So for today's challenge I want you to incorporate torn edges.

Challenge: Use torn edges somewhere on your project. It can be on a small border or around your entire card. Take it up a notch by burning your edges*, sponging, embossing, or painting.

*Tip: I burned my edges using a small tea light candle. I placed it on a plate, held my paper in my left hand and a wet paper towel in my right. So when the edge caught fire I could quickly put it out with the wet towel. A little practice and it worked fine.

Remember to use at least two or more mediums on your project. See this post for ideas. And put MIX261 in the keyword section.

See the MIX261 gallery here.

Those burnt edges make a super Victorian crinoline, Polly. I like torn edges but don't often use them...great challenge.

Appreciated your good suggestion of burnt edges, but I thought it best if I try that outside in the warm weather. : ) Don't trust my abilities to put out fires. Great idea for the challenge, Polly. Thanks.

I am not good at tearing my pages ... but I used a nail file and then my nails, and then I bit the dust and just tore a couple of little tiny pieces.

I was going to make two of these, one for each DGD, but only one has made it off my craft table today. Maybe tomorrow for the other one.
