I like 20 to a group. Very easy to prepare. Just my 2 cents.
Just put your 2 cents into my jar...I'm saving for a trip to Pigeon Forge

WHAT THE HECK IS A SHOEBOX SWAP ANYWAY?
 Teresa2315 I am sooo sorry, I missed your post about a week ago! Welcome welcome. I put you as day due to your Marysville location. Let me know if you want to sleep over, we would be happy to have you.
In answer to yours and multiple questions about WHAT IS A SHOEBOX SWAP?
A shoe box swap is where (for instance if 20 are in the group) Each person designs a card to make, makes a prototype to show how it looks when done, cuts out and provides all of the embellis and base, pieces etc (usually in individual zip bags or similar). Many people use shoeboxes to transport them so called "shoebox" swap. Then each person in the group takes time to make a card from each person in the group during the event, or can take your baggie home to finish later. So each person takes 20 cards or pages home with them. None of us are the professionals, (well speaking for myself! )so feel free to join right in and sign up. I have not done one yet but think it sounds like fun. I am new myself.

All, If you post and I do not put you on the list, make sure you PM me to call it to my attention. I have been kind of lazy only working for the paycheck this week and not staying glued to the posts like I do when it is slow.
Great thanks for the information. I went to a SU event when I was a demo but someone else did the shoebox and we all got to move from box to box so I didn't need to prepare. It was a lot of fun.
Oh I can't wait.

Should be fun and you have PLENTY of time to put them together. I did not hear back from the hotel yesterday and I was too busy to chase them down. I will try to call today and get this rolling. I am thinking block 10 rooms to start and then tell them to set new blocks as needed.
Great idea. You know after the holidays are done there really isn't anything to look forward to so it always seems like a let down? Well now we can look forward to this. Yeah!

I am so happy for you. That's planning ahead. I just asked my boss too. He (DH) only said "Save your money" LOL.

RESERVATIONS OPEN FOR THIS GATHERING!
OK everyone! Reservations are OPEN for this gathering, Whoohoo!
PLEASE SEE THUMBNAIL AT VERY BOTTOM OF POST #1 FOR RESERVATION AND DETAILS. We got great room rates and will get a discount on the conference room for every room that rents. So spread the word! Day people will be asked to contribute toward the conference room, so with even just 40-80 people it could be as little a 2-3 dollars each. Promote this!
Since I won't be bringing anyone with me, I am willing to be a Room Captain (or whatever it should be called ;) ) just to get the room held. We can each pay when we arrive. I don't mind 4 in an room.

Thanks Ladybug! I have you down as willing to share a room. Spread the word, I would love to see about 100 total! That is ambicious, but would make it so economical for everyone!

You have peeked my interest... So I am marking my spot. I would love to reserve the right to confirm at a later date. But I can say right now at this point, I would love to be included in the shoebox swaps and I would not like to share a room with anyone. No offense, but if I am coming to Pigeon Forge than I will bring my family with me, they can go to Dollywood while I stamp!!!!

WooHoo Anavon!!!! No one is offended....and you know what...I haven't even discussed this with DF yet, he MAY want to come!!! LOL
We have season passes to DollyWood and they usually are not open during that time of the year, however, places in Gatlinburg such as the aquarium are.
20 and under sounds great to be for the shoebox swap. If there are more than 20 people, we can have an A group and a B group if that makes any sense... I will be a moderator of each group, therefore however many groups there are, I will have a place in to help them fill up!

Great Mary thanks. I sent you my email addresses a few minutes ago.

I can not wait to get up there, I am so excited!!!!! I haven't gotten to get to PG in almost a year and a half due to my chemo this last fall and winter, so really looking forward to it. Also looking forward to doing some shopping and eating at my favorite resturants, The Old Mill and the Applebarn!!!! You ladies will love both of these if you like country cooking!! I might actually come up a day or two earlier or stay a day or two after, just love it up there. For those of you who think it might be too far, it will be around a 9-10 hour drive for me, so come on down, you will enjoy it.

Jamie - I just was there this past weekend (short stop on way home from Myrtle Beach) and ate at the Old Mill the first night and stop at the AppleBarn for lunch on the way home!!! The food is the best!!
I thought my dd would have to drag me out of the Apple winery but I finally had to threathen them I would leave with out them!!! tee heee!!
I hope that everyone is getting excited! I am already planning out the logistics of my shoebox swaps! Would anyone be opposed if I used some stamps other than SU!? I am thinking of incorporating either some Gina K or CTMH? Who knows what I will come up with!?
I love the whole Applebarn complex, all of the store and the winery is the best, love their apple cider. The Old Mill shopping area is great too, always come home with lots of stuff from there as well. I better start saving up my money now!!!
I just opened a 12x12 Christmas layout swap. I hope you will check it out and join me for the fun. It is located on my signature panel.
Thanks

I have just started using other stamps this past year also, TAC, CTMH, and several others. I think it would be nice to see what is out there and the different types of cards that can be made.

I would like to see it approved to stamp outside the box and use other vendors. Whipper snappers and Penny Blacks have some great stamps. But I will roll with the majority here.;)
