Hi Linda here as your hostess this week. We will be watching this video by a talented artist who demonstrates loose watercolor.
Everything she showed I did the opposite. Loose water color gives me a mental block. She holds her brush high when painting. It lets the water and paint have control instead of the artist. This is my biggest problem. I still needed a sample to show you artists what not to do if you want loose. I took a micron pen and doodled petals and leaves. Come and join us and show us your loose paintings. Thanks for looking.

Pretty pitcher of flowers, Linda. I did notice how high she held her brush but I don’t think I would have any control doing that. The pen outlines really define your flowers.

I'm so happy to be here on your gallery, Linda. And especially when you've just shared a video on the 'loose style' of watercoloring. There are so many people on YouTube that share their talents. But... you're correct to share your knowledge with everyone and what you know to work for you. I have to leave this morning for an appointment but as soon as I return home I'm going to watch this video. Watercolor is a very difficult discipline to learn, and takes a lot of practice even when you are intentionally getting loose. When you know the rules you can break the rules if that makes any sense. And if I have some time this week, I'd love to try as well. Thank you for sharing with us, Linda.

I personally love the doodling but then I do ink work in almost all my watercolor creations. The grid work on the pitcher is wonderful. Lovely flowers and vase! Hugz
