CC1072 - The Open Sea
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: bejoyce

Mary W. is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week (Yes, we now have two Marys on the CC Design Team!). She has challenged us (at least me!) with her colors: Cherry Cobbler, Secret Sea, and Cloud Cover. The dessert option is Nautical.

OK, one problem solved: I have only one set that has anything nautical, so The Open Sea it is! I stamped the ship in Secret Sea ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, double matted it with the stacked stitched dies, using Cloud Cover and Cherry Cobbler. The base layer is Crumb Cake, stamped with Crumb Cake ink in a random fashion, using the other stamps from the set. I added a strip of burlap ribbon and called it done. No bling, because this is definitely a masculine card, and no sentiment on the outside. Popped up on a white card base.

Come join us in the challenge this week and show us your boats, lighthouses, and anything else nautical that appeals to you. Or skip dessert and show us what you can do with these pretty colors.

The nautical images stamped randomly on your cb reminds me of my husband's years as a sailor. Your ship is Beautifully matted and the burlap makes me think of fishnet, Barbara~

Fantastic masculine & nautical card. I like the random stamping in the background. Perfect backdrop for the ship. I like how you matted it, too. The burlap is a nice touch. Well done.

Well Barbara, we used the same stamp. Great minds you know😂. I like how you created your own DP background and I really like the use of burlap ribbon, as it lends a rope effect to your card.

Your card looks great and handles the challenge colors well. The background stamping complements the nautical theme as does your burlap ribbon.

The matting with the Cloud Cover and Cherry Cobbler squares creates a lovely, eye-catching frame for the ship image, really making it pop! The burlap is a wonderful touch, adding to the nautical theme beautifully.
