WCW265, Hyacinth

I had watercooler this Hyacinth the other day and when I saw the challenge, I decided to take the white background and treat it as they had done in the video. I did not use any masking fluid on this but just painted in several of the colors I had used in the vase, water, bulb and flower. I liked it better before I started adding the Hyacinthus Orientalis. that became a bit of a mess, but I mostly salvaged it. Otheerwise I am quite happy with how it turned out.

This is such a graceful and organic composition—the way you’ve echoed the hyacinth’s hues into the background creates a lovely flow across the card. I really admire how you leaned into the painterly textures without masking—it gives the whole piece an expressive, journal-style charm. Even with the challenges you mentioned, the end result feels full of life and heart!
