Thank you Pat and to the entire Teapotter Team who bring our teaparty requests to life.
Our cards are going to Ellen (aka Eager Beaver) this week. Ellen writes the warmest and kindest comments on so many of our cards. She takes everything in her stride with such an amazing outlook, and always puts others first. Ellen's wants to share her story and urge all of us not to put off our mammograms ...ever!
Ellen has always added the funniest comments to my crazy bird cards so I figured I should bring Sassy Alana and her BFF, Nancy out to play. Sadly Nancy has a bung knee as a result of a previous skating incident...we don't talk about that. I digress, the girls are off to have their mammograms, then a spot of lunch!
Both girls are coloured with Inktense and Prismacolour pencils and a white paint pen. Nancy is wearing knock-off Dylusions gold boots and Alana's ice skates are curtesy of a Sassy Cheryl digi image that I wrecked. If I muck up an image that has a hat or shoes, I cut them off and put them in a little box to use at a later date. Their tulle skirts are handmade.
The background is a combination of Dylusions ink sprays and distress inks. I stenciled on the clock and brick wall with model paste, they looked way too white, so I quickly scrapped the paste off and plopped it on the alfoil sheet that had some Dylusions ink still on it.
I mixed everything together, then reapplied a thin layer of very lightly coloured paste. I then added a few doohickies and a doodled border.
Thanks so much for looking and I hope you get a chance to send some Splitcoaststamperville love Ellen's way.

Wow! Creativity at it's best. Your artwork is amazing and your imagination is even more amazing. You can turn these birds into anything and love the ice skates. I'm sure Ellen will get a chuckle out of this one.

Susie, this card is sooooo fun! So many great details. I love your altered birds, the skates, the brick, your doodles, the feathers - every little touch you added, but the best part of this card is the heart and feelings behind it. Such a great story Ellen has and she is going through so much. She is a brave soul and you are so sweet for encouraging us all to send her some love and to get those mammograms done. Hugz

Nancy looks as if you'd used a real feather on her - amazing effect. The boots look fab - I wouldn't mind a pair like that myself. What a great clock stencil, I really like it - and the brick wall. Your rescue of the over-white worked really well - but couldn't you just have sponged over the paste when it was dry, putting the stencil back in place? This is going to tickle Ellen pink.

Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to start talking about all of the things I love about this card. I keep going back to look at the details more closely, and they are all absolutely fabulous! Thanks for bringing Ellen to the Tea Party, I will get a card and a prayer out to her today.

Your level of artistry is exceptional, Susie. I never can stop gazing at your creations and this card is no exception. I first spied it last night and am now back, looking again! Your detail is amazing; the "bum" knee, the boots and skates (so surprising), their tulle skirts - love it all. The vibrant colors and wonderful texture, as always, are spectacular.

Why NOT dress up for your Mammogram before having to dress down? These chickadees are high fashion plates and happy, strutting their stuff. Nancy's limp doesn't slow them down, either. Your combinations of colors, design, embellishments and imagination make YOU and your card for Ellen, every kind of wonderful.

Oh, Susie, it is good news to see that Sassy Alana and Nancy are off to have mammograms! I think that while they are out, Nancy needs to stop off at another doctor's office to get that knee checked out as it is quite swollen. They certainly are dressed to the nines wearing the wonderful color symbol of pink. My friend, you make the most awesome pieces of art with those crazy, but beautiful, birds. The legs and shoes you give them are always remarkable. You bring such pleasure to us with your outstanding stories. I love your work, Susie, and I'm sure this card will bring laughter to Ellen for years to come. Hugs!
