I chose this photo for my inspiration...ignoring all the colors other than blue/white and gold.
Every year I make an Easter card for friends who admire Faberge's work as much as I do. This image is not one of his design...but close enough. I personalized it with a "G" for them. Faberge would sometimes incorporate the script monogram of the tsar's children in a design.
The egg was stamped with VM, embossed with gold, and then watercolored.

Gorgeous, Sallie! Your gold embossed egg is just beautiful & I definitely see your inspiration in the dinner plate. I went to a Faberge exhibit a couple of years ago. I was floored by the beauty & detail.
