I chose this photo for my inspiration...ignoring all the colors other than blue/white and gold.
Every year I make an Easter card for friends who admire Faberge's work as much as I do. This image is not one of his design...but close enough. I personalized it with a "G" for them. Faberge would sometimes incorporate the script monogram of the tsar's children in a design.
The egg was stamped with VM, embossed with gold, and then watercolored.

Oh Sallie--this card is right up my alley. I am fortunate enough to have 2 Theo Faberge' eggs in my collection. You did a fantastic job with this card! Love it! Thanks so much for sharing!

I have seen a few exhibits featuring Faberge eggs and you have sure captured the look perfectly, Sallie. Wonderful des ign and coloir choices. Great idea to include tgge initial.

Bestill my heart Sallie, you have truly captured Faberge's stunning attention to detail in this rich and elegant card. You are one of the few people I know who knew that the Czar custom ordered Faberge eggs for his wife, children and special family and friends. How unique that you added the G to this egg.
