IS590 Teeny Tiny Collage Card 1
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: Katchoo1

My last card of the night last night and I'm kind of in love with it. I numbered this card 1 even though it's the only one I made, because I know I'll be making more in the future!

The inspiration was this pin: http://pin.it/nPlZpnT

I have a pretty crazy scrap collection from all my partially used cardstock and patterned paper, and up til now my smallest pieces have been kept in a recipe box. I grabbed a handful of them and started snipping and playing with arrangments on a square of light brown cardstock. So much fun! Bits were going in and being taken off right up til I glued the last piece down!

I got a layout I liked and started picking up pieces to glue them down, and this is where the tweezers really came in handy! Definitely a necessity if you are going to work this small. After I got all the bits glued down, I backed it on an "art tile" for zentangle drawing, and put that on a kraft card. Added the strip across the bottom for balance and as a place to add a sentiment. But I didn't know what sentiment I wanted or even if I wanted one at all so I stopped there.

I really enjoyed making this collage and can't wait to do more! I think using Christmas papers and tiny Christmas images would be great fun, maybe even do a whole big piece of paper this way then cut it into pieces for a bunch of cards. Same with birthday cards. My only concern is using glue stick -- everything is secure now but I know glue stick loses it's oomph over time. Not sure if I should use matte medium to begin with both below and above the pieces like I see people do in art journals, or maybe use glue stick to hold everything in place and then coat with Mod Podge when finished. Would love to hear any thoughts on that part.

Audrie, I LOVE your pinterest board and am now a follower of all your boards because you have so many interesting ones. Great challenge, thanks so much for this!
