 | | This card uses the Embossing Resist technique--here's the tutorial.
I stamped the stars onto the watercolor paper with the Craft White pigment ink & used Winter White EP & heat embossed. Then I water-colored the panel, going over the heat embossed stars; after the panel dried, I carefully rubbed the paint off the stars so they showed up on the background. Before adhering it to the card front (Not Quite Navy card base), I added a strip of silver mesh from my stash, cut long enough so I could tape it to the back of the panel.
Applied Bordering Blue ink directly to the EF, cut a strip of Whisper White & ran the sandwich thru the Cuttlebug, to add some color to the EF image. Trimmed it down to layer on a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" Not Quite Navy panel.
I cut circles (1-3/4" & 2") from Not Quite Navy & Whisper White using my Cricut (George & Basic Shapes cartridge). Stamped the sentiment onto the WW circle, & heat embossed with the silver EP. (I am loving my new SU Heat Tool!!) Layered the sentiment circle onto the blue circle.
Layered the dry embossed panel on the left side of the card front, over the mesh, with dimensional tape, & layered the sentiment circle panel with dimensional tape, overlapping the longer panel slightly.
Made 12 of these (!), so I am getting closer to my goal for 2016 Christmas cards! Woot! :-) |
