This is for JeanÂ’s fun Falliday ChallengeÂ…Are you a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? Team Glinda or Team Elphaba?
Most of the time I side with the good witch Glinda, but when I am using pigment ink you would think I was a bad witch. I stamped little George as an after thought and while I was trying to cover up the blue in his tummy I touched the pigment inkÂ…..I forgot it takes four and a half year to dry!!
Mrs. Murphy was stamped first, itÂ’s supposed to look like she is walking up a hill. I masked Mrs. M in order to do the sky using the Smack & Squirt technique (smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock). Because Timmy H still hasnÂ’t invented a really dark navy blue, I made a watery puddle using Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress ink. On the far edges of the card I scrubbed in some walnut stain distress ink.
I think a blend of chipped sapphire, black soot and walnut stain might make a good navy blue. Word has it the Timmy H is no longer Creative Director for Ranger, I hope he invents navy blue before he leaves!!!
I added swishes of silver Versa colour and white paint dots (using the pointy end of a paint brush) and some stickles.

Oh my goodness, Susie, I love this!! Your background has a wonderful starry finish to it and it looks like the snow is blowing in the wind across the sky! The little penguin figures are so adorable in their starry hats! It's the color variations of the blue and the green that are so very interesting and eye-catching! My friend if you do an amazing job on your cards!

I think you are the creative director of SCS...who needs TH?? Your designs are so artful and entertaining....this is no exception. I think your concocted navy is genius...looks good to me...love the starry hats. Another Susie masterpiece.

Oh my goodness, Susie! I LOVE the penguins with their witch hats!! The blue you concocted is wonderful and the walnut stain on the edges is great! I certainly wouldn't refer to you as a witch, good or bad! You're a sweetheart and you're great to everyone!! Hugs, my friend!

This is absolutely delightful! I had to giggle about you working with pigment ink and possibly turning into a bad witch then. Completely understandable too! LOL. I love this gorgeous starry night you have created and Mrs. Murphy and Little George are too adorable! ~Karen.

Mum must be carrying the loot bag. That is why little George wants her to hurry up. He's almost at the next house to trick or treat. You created a wonderful sky and hills for them to trudge.

First, I miss you! I haven't been viewing much this week and trying to catch up and I recognized this as your immediately!!! I think you are a WITCH, your creative genius is pure magic! I love your solution for navy blue. Although there are so many elements that make me giggle (your narration is tops), I LOVE the gradation/layers of colors for the snow shadows! I'm glad I didn't miss this one.

Another fantastic creation my friend. The bg has such a terrific 3D feel...it really looks like falling snow. I love those penguins with the cool hats. You get such deep, rich colors.

Another wonderful inky creation. Love the inky blue sky - it works. Love the way you can turn all those different inks into a snowy winter scene. Think you should apply for the job of Head Colour Creator to replace TH at Ranger. Bet you could come up with some wonderful colour combinations.

Mrs Murphy has an interesting expression, to me it looks as if George is going to be I in trouble when she gets to the top of the hill! Love their starry witches hats and the amazing sky which looks like a shimmering Southern Lights without any colour.
It always used to puzzle me why the artist's ranges in most paints have so many more colours available than the student's ranges. Seems to me that the students/amateurs need their colours pre-mixed but the artists can mix their own.
