 | | This card is for the MIX31 challenge, to incorporate any drip technique. Sounded easy enough, right? It's a good thing I started with heavy watercolor paper, because it was thoroughly abused before I finished, and nearly went into the trash can about four times!
Started by heavily misting the paper and applying big daubs of Distress paint (Mustard Seed, Fired Brick) Peeled Paint), holding at an angle and spraying more water to make it run. Got more blending than drips... Covered it completely with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and heavily sprayed the top edge, holding the paper straight up. When the drips got to the bottom I turned it upside down and repeated the process. Good, now I have noticeable drips, but what next?
Stamped a very large leaf stamp with Versafine Vintage Sepia and heat embossed with clear ep. It was okay, but not what I wanted, so I tore it into strips, crumpled it up and distressed with Walnut Stain and Rusty Hinge Distress inks. Taped it back together and dribbled gold Shimmer Spritz with a paint brush, trying for a granite look as demonstrated by Contadina K in an early video. Not happening (sigh).
I didn't have a stamp that I wanted to use, so I went through my embossing folders and decided on the bird in the reeds. After running it through the Big Shot I brayered it with Timber Brown Stazon. And loved it!
