Brayered Vellum - WT432
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: Loll Thompson

For today's Ways to Use It challenge - WT432 - vellum.

I recently saw a beautiful, brayered vellum card by Shana Gaff and wanted to give it a try.

Love how this turned out ... the inks blend so nicely on vellum. I used my heat tool to dry the ink, but found it still smudged a little, so I covered the front with an acetate sheet to protect the ink - worked great. I framed the brayered vellum between two pieces of white cardstock, both with a rectangle die-cut in the center. I then popped it up on my card front to give some space between the vellum and card.

I used the colours from the Colours & Sketches Challenge #30 - colours: cajun crazy, gumball green, primrose petals. Love these colours together!

For more details, check out my blog.

Loll this turned out beautiful. I never thought of brayering on vellum. I left you a question on your blog about the copper leaves. Would you mind sending me a pm?

Truly gorgeous, Loll. Never thought of brayering on vellum, but it does have a great "tooth" which would make it perfect. Love the simple silhouetted grasses image you chose and the font of your sentiment is beautiful and so fitting with your design.

That brayering is beautiful! The wonderful blend of those colors! Thanks for the idea of using the acetate. What a wonderful background for silhouettes!

This looks amazing! I have sponged backgrounds onto vellum but never thought to use a brayer - into my faves!

This is really pretty. The vellum really give a softness to your rich colors. I really like how you used the frames around it.
