 | | I created this card for the MIX03 Challenge, with the layout based on the LOVEFEST2013B Sketch Challenge from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
The MIX Challenge was to use black text on white and add three colors of red. I began by stamping Stampabilities Faded Text on watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black. I brayered with a scarlet red Studio G pigment ink and Ranger Distress in Festive Berries, then misted it lightly to bring out the texture of the paper. When it dried, I stamped Penny Black Blush in VersaMark, and applied two different red, two different green and two different brown pastels, scribbling my chalks on scrap and picking up the powder with a small paintbrush.
I completed the card using SB dies, MS edger punch, Cuttlebug ef, Starform sticker sentiment, and died to match ribbon (using Festive Berries). I left off the two small banners shown in the sketch, they didn't really fit the feel of the card, and I hated to cover up any part of the image.
