I was browsing the SCS galleries yesterday and came across a SFYTT (Sketch for you to try) that I hadn't tried from back in August. I really liked the composition of it, so I decided to see what I could come up with. I was able to whip up two cards with it. This sketch is going into my favorites. I love the color and interest it brings to the table!
Supplies:
Stamps: SU's "Kindred Spirits"
Papers: Paper Source's "Creme Luxe," DP by SU and Basic Grey
Inks: Copics and Alcohol Spritzer*
Accessories: Chalks, Basic Grey Rub-Ons, Making Memories Brads, Oriental Trading Co.'s Brads, Pop Dots
*I saw this neat technique for making a "mottled" image with copics on another blog a while back. There's not much to it, really. You just color directly on your stamp with copics, spritz the stamp with alcohol and then stamp directly on paper. It helps if the paper has some tooth to it, to make it more mottled. Try it -- it's fun
Beautiful, beautiful card! Love the layout, the colors and the "sprig" of folage! Nice Christmas card - classic colors but unexpected at the same time!!!
