MAY09MINIVSN7 - Sat. April 25th - 8:00pm EST - The Hustle and Bustle
Title: The Hustle and Bustle
Hostess: Stacey (Little Lou's)
Keyword: MAY09MINIVSN7
Date: April 25, 2009
Time: 8:00pm EST
When I think of Las Vegas I think of all the hustle and bustle that must go on the strip. The flashing lights, the cars and taxis, airplanes flying overhead and people wondering all over seeing the sights and ducking in and out of the casinos. What do all those people use to get in and out of those buildings? Doors, more precisely, revolving doors!
For some reason, the design of a flip flop card reminds me of these revolving doors. So, MY CHALLENGE TO YOU is to make a flip flop or swing card.
A tutorial on how to make one of these cards can be found HERE.
It's actually quite easier than it looks at first glance. Have fun and I can't wait to see you creations!
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday, April 27, 2009

I am sooooo looking forward to what everyone comes up with.....my one and only flip card was ummmmmm....kinda lame.....so I can't wait to see more rockin' flip cards to get me excited about them again!!!

Go for it Ashley. You can do it. I always love trying new techniques....even if they sometimes do end up in disaster;) Nothing ventured nothing gained. Try something new and risky. We are in Vegas after all!!!

I found the worse part with these cards is the scoring and cutting, if you can get through that you can do it! If you don't know where to start I would suggest picking your favorite color as your base and go from there!

I forget how easy this card is to make - I just need to get myself a decent paper trimmer/scorer combo so it would be even easier!!!!!! Thanks for a great challenge Stacey. Here's my card:
When I was at StampFest by the Bay in Clearwater a couple of months ago, I bought some Repeat Impressions stamps that are specifically for Swing Cards. Unfortunately, they all are Christmas stamps. So, even though it was 90 degrees out today (not that I was outside at all today), I got to use them. Here's my card --
I did this earlier but the camera went to the zoo with my DD and didn't come home until 9, so now I am trying to catch up on all the cards I didn't upload. I did something wrong with my scoring or cutting so that I made the inside piece too big and it stuck out over the sides of the card. So I added an extra strip of paper to make the card wide enough to accomodate its center. Now I need to make a special size envelope! Here's my card. TFL!
This is my first flip-flop cards - well second one as I messed up the first (not too good at precision cutting).
I messed up the hedgies face a bit when I was almost done, but I didn't feel like making it all over again.

Wow, this looks really cool! Beate's tutorials are so great, I just love trying the projects, because I know if I follow directions, they will turn out right!
