Default Wierd smell come from the Cricut?

Has anyone ever had a wierd smell come from theirs? I have had it on my dining room table since I bought it about a month ago. DH put it in a big cardboard box with all the cricut stuff and put it in my stamping room/cats room(we share) for a couple of days. I needed my table. Well the room got this smell like a electrical burning smell, smelt awful. It was not plugged in, the cord wasnt even attached(it was downstairs). I thought maybe it was the air purifier, its new too. We moved the cricut back downstairs and the smell is going away. Very very strange....Doesnt smell sitting in my dining room.

Do your cats like to get into boxes the way mine do? Is there a chance that one of them was naughty in the box?

I watch a lot of crime shows, and the evidence, though circumstantial, seems like it might point to a culprit. Emitting a smell when it's turned off, when it didn't while it was in the dining room, is a pretty good indicator that something happened while it was in the other room. You know, the one with the cats ;-)

I read on the cricut site a couple people said something about it giving off a skunk smell. I dont think they did anything in the box, it didnt smell.
