Does anyone know the extra 12 color difference between the 120 and the 132? I looked on their website, and there's too many for me to even keep track of the difference. I hope someone here would know, thanks! ;)

Very pretty card Cindy! You could also color the bird blue for a Blue Jay too!
Yes, I am the same Nancy Jacey located in Richmond. Did you see my work at Crossroads Art Center?
Hi Nancy! Yes I did. Gloria there showed it to me at an opening. Wonderful work.. you should put a link to your website here. I emailed you awhile ago. Funny... I was just looking at your business card here on my desk when I saw your post here. Thinking about one day taking some kind of illustration classes.
This is a great thread for Prismacolor users, glad you joined us!

I haven't totally been keeping up with the thread but I remember some discussions about skin color which I usually have trouble with. In my web travels I found a set of pencils by Lyra called skintones. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these, i.e., if they are like prismas (work with gamsol), really look like skin tones etc.
Kim
Oh my!!!!! That is all I can say because your work is so stunning, amazing, beautiful......What talent you have! It was such a pleasure going through your work. Thanks to Mr. Hambo for bringing you to our attention. So wish I lived in florida so I could take some instruction, if I did 100th as well as you I would be spectacular.

I've the Lyra skin tones for about 2 years a love them. They are increadibly smooth and work just like prismas. The pencils are fatter than prismas, the lead doesn't break. I use for skin as well as bears and other critters. This is one product that you won't regret.
What do you all use to make red hair? I experimented the other night but really didn't come with anything that satisfied me.
Becky
I use a combination of prisma goldenrod, pumpkin orange, mineral spirits and Lyra skintone #93405. Most redheads I know have a variety of shades and these colors let me make natural highlights and shading.

I have a Mike's coupon for 50% off so I want to get a set of Prismacolor Pencils - I know i like the technique as I've been using the Koh-I-Noor's but I'm wondering what size set - what does everyone recommend? I'd love the pricey 120 set but can I ever use all those colors? Will I be depressed with only 48? lol...should I get the 72? Ah...decisions! What's recommended?

Even with the 50% off coupon Mike's is still expensive. I would check out other stores prices first.
On which set to get.. I would get the 120.. you will want them all eventually..lol

Yeah - Mike's would still be about $100 with the coupon - definitely not in my budget. I saw a set on Amazon for $83...a little better!
If it helps, ther is a 10 mail in rebate on the prismas @ Mike's I think until the end of September. I just bought a set this week. That might help you too..

I am learning about this Prismacolor stuff, and a bit later I'm afraid. Hopefully my purchase will not be a total loss.
I went to a local art store and they had the Prismacolor Watercolor 24 set on sell, so I bought it. Unaware that it wasn't the ones most use. So while I can still use them for most things, it's not exactly what I wanted. Maybe my daughter will want those.
I did a 'buy now' on a 48 new set on Ebay, for 25.99 with free shipping. It's in Maryland like me, so hopefully I'll get them this week. (Please tell me that was a decent price). They are Prismacolor Priemer (Link Here). I'm going away for a week at the ocean, and I'm not fond of the ocean and usually get bored out of my mind. I'm hoping to perhaps get some practice coloring with the blending stumps and baby oil. I'm really excited, and just praying I finally bought the right ones.

I don't use the gamsol or oil. I just layer my colors, light 1st,then I use the blending stump over thetop of it. I then use my w/clor pencils on top of it. I use a q-tip or small paint brush w/ water to mix the w/color over the top. they compliment each other.:-D
 Check out Bicks, make sure use tgecode for S&h to save money.

Yes! For the Prismacolor pencil with the odorless mineral spirit ( or baby oil) technique, you need the Prismacolor PREMIER Colored Pencils. Now you have the right ones. There is a tutorial here on SCS called Gamsol Magic that might give you additional help. The author, Cecilia Ross, was my stamping teacher and she is unbelievably talent, especially when it comes to coloing. Check out her Gallery here too! She uses the name " princessink " and she is terrific!
Have fun with your pencils! I bought mine almost 10 years ago and I LOVE them!

I too bought them for a similar price . Of course people can get deals here and there but I think that is the everyday low price for a set of 48.

I have had my prismacolor pencils for about 2 months but haven't used them much because of all the business of summer.
I bought this changito stamp -thought it would give me practice coloring.

I'm still waiting for my Prismacolor Premier pencils. They have been shipped so I should get them next day or two. I'm so excited.
We leave on Monday for the Ocean for 5 days. Believe it or not, I actually hate the ocean. I'm usually very bored and end up just eating the whole time. Last year we searched around and found a video game store and I bought myself a Gameboy.
This year, I'm going armed! I searched and found a stamp/scrapbook/paper crafting store only 10 miles from hotel. Taking prismacolor pencils, order copics and they should be here before we go, plus I still have that gameboy.
Quick question, what is a good paper? I ordered SU confetti white, does that work well or do I need a watercolor paper?
