I got mine a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it! I keep finding coupons to get more cartridges.
My justification for the cartridges is that you are able to resize the
letters/shapes and with Quickutz, Sizzix, etc... you can't. It's quick to change between cartridges too. I have it sitting directly behind me so when I want something I can turn around hit "cut" and turn back to continue to work on my project (but it doesn't take long at all to cut).
Keep an eye on the prices of the replacement blades and mats. Michaels is listed at $9.99 for each while if you see them in online stores (or even ebay) they can be up around $20-$30 for the same thing.
