Help needed - looking for Cuttlebug B plate online
I know there have been a lot of discussions on the dreaded broken B plate of the Cuttlebug. Now that has happened to me - all Emily's fault, as I was doing the color challenge for today LOL. I need to buy one online ASAP, but I am having trouble locating one.
Can anyone help? I would appreciate a company with good prices and low shipping costs!!
Oh, yes!!! I've had great service from EP, as well! D'oh!!! Thanks, Val--I had forgotten they have all the CB stuff. Prolly cuz I keep droolin' over the Fancy Pants stamps they have . . .

Thanks for the speedy replies, and from the experts, too.
I might have to make the huge sacrifice and order something else in order to meet minimums LOL.

But . . . while you're there . . . check out the new CB Paisley Die set, and the white medium weight coasters, which are EXCELLENT for die cutting with CB dies, and . . .

If you have a Joann's nearby that is where I bought mine. Picked up a package when I bought my CB Friday after hearing recs. to buy extra.
Cb was a Mother's Day gift from family. Things have been so busy around here that I haven't taken it out of the box yet. Waiting for just the right minute!!
Julie, oh, I mean Her Royal Rubberness, did you actually take the plunge and get a green machine? If so, do you have any advise on these "B" plates? They are supposed to last for approx. 500 cuts, but, do in fact last only 100 - 300 cuts. I only use CB produts in my CB and only use CS weight paper. Is this, IYO a manufacturer defect? Would expressing our woes to Provo be more advantageous than buying more plates? TFS.

I did in fact buy one, to compare to a previously purchased Big Shot.
In the end, I kept the Big Shot, because the handle was larger and more comfortable to grip with my hand/arm that suffers from tendinitis, and I sold the CB to a friend; therefore, I didn't keep the CB long enough to assess the lifetime of the cutting plates.
I'm not sure WHY the CB plates are cracking so much faster than those of the BS (I have used the BS Plates since I got the machine in November, and just 2 days ago one of the plates finally bit the dust. I've been very pleased with their performance)
I'm not an engineer, so I can't formulate a possible reason as to why the CB plates are cracking so quickly--is the density of the plexiglass used in their making different? Is it because the CB is calibrated ever so slightly tighter than the BS? Is it due to the small size of the CB dies, and how the pressure is distributed across the plexiglass as it goes through the machine with only one die, as opposed to 4 at a time (or something the size of the Sizzix Original/BS Thick Cuts dies, etc.) are used? Is the ejection foam not thick enough on the wafer dies? (Sizzix and BS dies have a more substantial ejection rubber that surrounds the cutting blades of the die. They are also considerably larger in size so the pressure is more evenly distributed across the entire cutting pad as it goes through the machine, due to their design.
If they cracked on the first half dozen runs, I'd say they are indeed defective. But, I really couldn't make a determination of defectiveness, based on 100-300 cuts, vs. 500. Does the mfg. indeed claim on the packaging that they should last for approx. 500 cuts?
So, yes, call them, write to them, email them. They want users of their product to be happy with how it performs, but, unless they know there's a problem, they can't resolve it, or at least try to resolve it.

Thanks for your speculations. I do plan to call them. I like your style that they deserve to know that the plates seem to be breaking - or at least mine do.

They have a flat S & H fee of $5.95 for orders under $100 . . .
Thanks again, Julie, for taking time to respond.
Update - I just received my order from paper dreams. Their customer service (e-mail responses) was excellent. Shipping was a tad slower than I thought it should be - but I still had the order in a week. They let me know in advance at least one CB embossing folder was on back order - actually, there were two - but they will be shipped at no added charge. From my experience, I can certainly recommend them. Prices were very competitive, and considering postage charges, this seemed the best for me.
