Default Faux Primas from Mulberry Paper

Last night I got somewhat creative and made my own Prima flowers. I bought this little journal at a shop in our town. They sell items from South America. The journal had handmade mulberry paper as it's writing paper. I took the journal apart and printed some flower dingbats on it (Saru's flowers dingbat {size 60} downloaded from internet), cut out the flowers, and chalked them with my SU chalks. I inserted the brad and voila! I think they are very cute. I figured that for $5.00 Canadian I can make over 400 flowers in any colour I want. Incidentally, Primas are not much cheeper than $10.00/bottle here.

Do you all have primas already? Was all this a waste of my time? Should I just go out and spend the $10.00 for the real thing?

I don't have any yet, but have three bottles in assorted colors on order. I've used silk flowers and punches, and I like that look, but the Primas are quick and easy. I'll probably still use punches and silks, too, though.

I think your flowers are great! One of the best reasons for making your own version is that you can make any number of colors a few at a time. If you only need four purple and three yellow, you don't have to purchase an entire bottle of each.
I do know some people just buy the bottles, set them on a shelf as decoration and have no intention of ever opening the bottle.
BTW... I think perhaps what you used is handmade paper, but not mulberry paper. Mulberry is very flimsy. My punch won't even cut through it because it's too soft.

I haven't bought any yet, as I don't usually order things online and would rather find them in a store.

I also didn't add Brads to my yet cause I figure I would do that when I use them.
