See ... my bugs don't have any other animals around to play with, so they don't get much dust. My kids KNOW not to mess with them.
MIne dont get much time to collect dust either, only if we are remodeling something in which case I just put a towl over it, but i always keep it shut and put away when not in use...
I was looking at the dust covers that everyone is talking about and had a quick question for those that do have them... there seems to be 2 basic 'styles' or 'designs'. One that just lays over the top and one that allows for the handle to be lifted up (so you can carry the bug around with the cover on)... now my question... does the second style (that allows for the handle to be lifted up) go all the way around the bottom (i.e. it's all enclosed) or is it open on the bottom where the feet are?
I have the Ebug so I don't think I can help you here...sorry :(
Just wondering if any of you folks 'down south' could hear my chirping this weekend? My bug got a lot of use! Had it going most of Saturday and Sunday cutting out baby outfits from New Arrival. Cut out about 120 of them to use on favors. Then I cut out 60 place cards and 60 'backgrounds' for them... then i made some confetti! Cut out a bunch of the shapes (at size 1") in the matching colors (pretty in pink, barely banana, cool caribean, lavender lace and certainly celery)... 1/2 of a 8.5x11 sheet of each.
After all that , the mat is done - i.e. not sticky any more... near the end I just used scotch tape to hold down the ends of the paper so it wouldn't move... it worked but I think it is time for a new mat. I guess I expected it to last longer....
I used SU! paper for all... blade set at 4, size = 2, and pressure & speed set at 5. Worked great!
I'll post some pics when they are all 'assembled'...
I am posting the link to my gallery for those of you who wanted to see some of the altered Target mailboxes I made last week. I made 10 of them total & all are different. I used my Cricut machine to cut the scallops, circles, & mini envelopes for the flag.

Lois - the Mini Monogram cart has both the scalloped circle and the scalloped square.
The Accent Essetials cart has several scalloped circles, but no squares.
Hope that helps!
Oh, and it's no interruption ... that's what we're here for!
Oh and just wanted to add Alphalicious has a scalloped Oval with a hole punched at the top, Zoobaloo has a Scalloped Square, and there is a scalloped circle with hole in Celebrations and a fancy scalloped square, scalloped heart in Doodlecharms, PlantinSchoolBook has a scalloped rectangle and square and a square and Rectangle with in inner scalloped line cut into it.
and their is a scallloped frame in SYI I believe...Love the scallops. Also their is a backwards D in Plantin School Book that like any other "D" can be rotated and added as scallop to any shape in the software to make a lacy scallop. HTH
WOW! You did an awesome job. For a first timer they look like you have been making them for years. I especially like Just A Note!
Thanks Smokiesgal! It's my first Cricut card. I've actually been making cards for about 2 years off and on... sorry for the confusion.
I have a pic of each card I've made but can't seem to find them all to upload. Those that I could find are in my gallery.
I was eager to make a card using my bug. I do like this card but I think I'll be using the bug more for scrapbooking (which I'm just starting) and for the baby shower (favours, seating cards and confetti). I'm finding it difficult to find a 'card' use for it... but I'm sure it will come with time and practice!

Reason: .
I got my e-bug two weeks ago, but my mat was bad. I got a replacement mat, so I am now ready to go but I have a couple of questions.
1. I bought the design studio software, but I haven't tried to install it yet. Is there anything I need to know before I install it? I have read some other posts where people are having trouble and I am afraid to try and load it.
2. I bought my machine at Walmart mainly because I could get it instantly and it was a good way to get the machine for under $300. (I had the ACM bundle in my shopping cart, but I couldn't pull the trigger!). Now, I am wondering if I made a mistake. How important is it to have the AE cart and the George cart? Should I try to get those now?
WOO HOO, My Free cart has shipped...DOesnt say which one but it is on its way left yesterday left SLC this morning...I should get it by...Friday I hope....
I am cutting vinyl for my Niece and nephews new bedrooms they move into their new home on Sat....I am goign to do it in the software first so I'll post them before I wrap them up

With the software, you can make any square into a rectangle and any circle into an oval. The square can also become a diamond. The software opens up ALL kinds of opportunities.
Use stampin' mist and spray it. Then, wipe it down with a baby wipe (with no alcohol in it). Let it dry completely. That usually works pretty well.
I think I am actually going to invest in some of the repositionable spray. There is a girl on the Cricut MB that says she has been using the same mat for 6 months!!! She uses it regarly, too! I might as well give it a shot. I go through a mat about every 2 weeks but you all know that I use it every day!

I thought that voided our warranty .....????
I have been busy today getting ready for the swarm. I counted and I have 59 pages ready to scrap!!! For those of you who are not familiar with my technique, I get everything ready to go for a spread and put it all in a page protector. I don't crop or adhere anything but I do pick my colors & cut my titles & accents. It saves a lot of time and helps me work on something productive during a crop.
On another note I also got caught up with ALL the laundry in the house!! Woo hoo!!! I haven't done that in years!!! It is a lot of work doing laundry for 7. I figured that I wash 5-7 loads per week, at least. I'm just going to make Monday & Thursday my wash days. I think that will help me from spinning my wheels on these huge piles!
We ordered a new computer that should be here Fri or Mon. I can't wait but I have a lot of work to do installing all my programs. Wish me luck! I haven't been able to upload anything to my blog this week because my computer no longer recognizes anything we put in the ports. I'm lucky that I was able to transfer songs to my Ipod before it goofed up. Our new computer will be so much easier for doing so many things with my hobby. I don't have the DS installed on it but that is fine because my office is upstairs with my laptop and our computer is in the family room downstairs.
Sorry to babble. Okay, I am off for a few hours. I'm trying to cut down on computer time. I am getting so much more done!
I thought that voided our warranty .....????
I guess if you tape it down around the sides you should be fine. The warranty is up on my little bug and will be up this summer with the e-bug. I don't think they ask you that question anyway when you call with problems. Who knows.

Kathy--do you remember when you sent in your rebate form? Just trying to get an idea of the timeline for when I'll get mine (which was sent on 12/31). Hope you get your first choice!

Robyn, can you tell us more about the 'repositioning spray'? Brand, name, source etc?
I've 'seen' this cart at Micheals and looked at it depth via the software but I'm wondering what it can be used for? Any ideas? It's very similar to Tags but most of the shapes have those little holes on the sides for eyelets or passing things through? I guess you could use it instead of HodgePodge (SU)?

I don't own it but from what I understand it is being used like the HodgePodge kits. I don't use those too often so I am fine without it.
OMG - this is one I must have. When looking at the other Disney's I wondered why there was no Pooh - now i know - they were holding out so they could make a seperate cart. I wonder when it will be available...
Hi, I hope you girls can help me. Are there any octagon shapes available? I need to make Chinese New Year cards for my nephew's and niece's classmates - 74 cards total. I want to make 3 x 3 shaped cards. I have the spellbinders one but it'll be so much easier to cut them with the bug KWIM?
I am also looking for any Chinese themed cutouts from any cartridge? I tried looking at the PD cartridge but couldn't find any Chinese costume either. This one is for their teachers. Suggestions most welcome. Thanks in advance!
