Default Stupid question

My ladies want to learn how to burnish. Now, this is just where you pick up ink on a sponge & swish it on the cardstock, right? Does it need to be glossy, or can it be regular cardstock? I looked up burnishing in the gallery, and it seemed that it doesn't need to be a certain type of paper, but wanted to know for sure. I'm not 100% sure I care for this technique either...someone sell me on it! ;)

Thanks!!

Default I love to burnish!!

The only time it matters what cardstock you use is when you are doing a resist technique.
I can add a color with the ink that I don't have in paper and save time too.
It also frames the image or saying making it pop off the card or page. Try experimenting with it. Most people find a certain way they like it to look.

Have fun.

I have tried this when I want more than one color in the background.... sort of like the Polished Stone technique. It seems I need the glossy for that. On matte paper the ink just soaks right in and looks more like a blob. Then again, I may be doing it wrong.
