Does anyone have any idea how to stamp on a mailbox? My mailbox is all white and incredibly boring! It is oddly expensive to buy decorative mailboxes? I thought I could stamp it. What kind of paint and technique would I use?

I've never tried stamping anything that would go outside, but my first guess would be to use exterior-grade, water-based paint. Behr has a line of them, and Home Depot sells Behr paint. You probably also want to seal it when you're done.

My DH just used high quality spray paint to paint ours into a Texas flag. We bought a cast iron star and painted it with spray paint too. Took several coats to cover though. I would think you could spray it white and then stamp with your Craft Inks. Then seal with a clear sealer. If you have something metal you could try it. Or I think the new plain white mail box only cost like $10 at Home Depot. Try stamping it and if it doesn't work, you could always spray it white again with spray paint.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out!
Have you ever seen the magnetic mailbox covers? Very cute, inexpensive and easy to use! Check this out!! (or just search for magnetic mailbox covers on yahoo...)
I handpainted and stamped my mailbox using the Glossy Exterior acrylic craft paints made by Plaid Apple Barrel - no sealing neccessary ! They run about $1 for a 2 oz bottle found at craft supply stores. It's held up perfectly for 3 years now. I used felt scraps with the paint as my stamp pad. Be sure to clean your stamps as you are working to avoid getting the paint built up too much, gunking the stamp up. It's easy !
I also used the acrylic paints. Apple Barrel. The mail box has withstood (sp?) 6 years of South Dakota weather. I used the DD Pansy set (old) and it looked great! Have fun designing!
