Default Sponging

I just saw a card in the gallery (I clicked "Today's Additions) from stephleider that used the Sponging technique with Botanical. I don't know how to attach the link to the card or I would do that. (If someone could tell me how, I'd be grateful!)

How is Sponging done? It isn't the same as Popping Pastels, is it? I did a search for Sponging and came up with 93 matches, but the second page wouldn't display and I didn't find any explanations on the first page of matches.

Thanks in advance,
Rosie

Default sponging

this is the burnishing technique. Stamp images in black, ink up some with dye based ink, and rub in a circle motion over the image. That is is a beautiful card. This technique looks best with detail stamps. Hope this helps!
