Default Sponge Daubers

Hi All,

I've wanted to buy the sponge daubers but have a couple of questions. Can you use them with both chalk and ink? How do you clean them? Lastly, if any of you have some examples in your galleries I would love to see some examples of how they are used.

Thanks,
Heather

I LOVE LOVE them! I do not clean mine. I use one for reds, one for blues and so on. I just dab them off a lot after I use it in a color then move on to the next one. I would think you can use them in chalks, I am not a chalks person so I don't know for sure. I have tons of crayon resist in my gallery using sponge daubers. They do a circular effect, but you can blend them more so they don't do that, I just like it that way.

Yes you can use them with chalks and stamp pads. My demonstrator has a large set of them and I don't think she worries about cleaning them. She labled them the color she uses them on and just uses them over and over. They are great for coloring edges of paper with. We have used them with a cloud stencil. We also used them on glossy paper to dab on a spot of color and then stamp with the same color image over the top. We made a card with Green galore/cameo coral and tempting turquoise with this technique. Nan

Default cool technique

emilymomto3boys...love your cards! How do you use the daubbers? Do you stamp the black first, draw the white highlights, then dab on the background color?? It's such a great look, I just don't know the directions.

Thanks for showing your examples!

They are great to use when chalking over a stamped image using versamark....poppin pastels.

I'll have to try some of the other suggestions listed! thanks

Thanks for the suggestions emilymomto3boys, thanks for posting your cards. I am a visual person. It looks like I will be ordering a couple of these sets before free shipping is over.

I only have once set and have used them all the time, but use them for the same colors....like my pumpkin crayon resist card...used one dauber for the whole thing, just stamped it off in between. I haven't even used half of the daubers yet and I have had them for 3 months. I don't think you would need more than a package or two unless you want to label them and have one for every color.

Default Clean

If you wanted to clean them you could. I have done it. I use Pink Soap. You buy it in the artist section at any Crafts store.

Just in case

I have cleaned mine after use and although there stained I use them in the same color family when I use them...start with light first if you are using more than one color (barely banana, then yoyo yellow).
