Default Using SU Slit Punch

I purchased the SU split punch with big eyes, but now I can't get it to work. I'm definitely mathematically challenged. How do I line up the slit so that it's even on all sides? Thanks in advance!

Default Slit punch tutorial

See Andrea Walford's website, under Tutorials, there are Techniques, where she has links to a couple of Tutorials about using the slit punch for borders and such.

Here is JulieHRR's thread for using the slit punch: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
To make a scallop border with it, you have to take the guard off. You need a strip of cardstock. The scallops will be punched onto the opposite side of the cardstock.
