I just want to say that I am so grateful for your tutorial.... I have never really tried to watercolor an image. Sometimes I just splashed some color around with the aqua-painter over the top of an "impressionistic" image.
You have given me hope! Once I finish my October scripture swap, I'm going to test your technique.
Thank you so much- I cannot wait to try this out! I have really been experimenting with water coloring- so it will be great to try this and see if my results are as great as yours (yeah, right!) Thank UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!
great tutorial. i'm going to try this when i get home.
i wish this was around a few months ago before i spent the money on some copic-like markers. i could of bought more stamps instead.
I tried the coloring with markers today and love it! You've got to give it a try.
I did achieve a similar look with my WWcrayons too, in case you'd like to see the cards I created to compare, here's the link: http://stampspaperandink.typepad.com...d-somethi.html
Many thanks, Julie, I love using what I already have! :-)
Here's a link to one I did a few days ago.....I've actually been coloring with SU markers & WC paper for a while!! I had no idea it was a secret!! I woulda shared had I known, hehe!! I told Julie on her blog that great minds DO think alike!!!

I find it funny that you are so impressed with these "artist bloggers" because you are DEFINATELY a rockstar blogger to me! I love your blog! Stalk it! Read every word you write.
*and now I sound like a freaky stalker*

LOL - thanks , and stalk all you want
Julie,
I'm a stalker as well and omg, your cards and coloring are amazing! I have some copics, WWC, and markers, and no matter how I try, my coloring just isn't that impressive.
You've inspired me and I think I'm gonna stamp something on watercolor paper and play a little since dh wants to stay up late tonight--the Lakers are playing in Hawaii at 7 which is 10 here (thank god we don't live on the East Coast cuz I'm not staying up till 1am to watch a game with him!)

LOL - I just checked out your blog and you are awesome yourself!! Try the coloring, I gotta say, for me, it is theraputic
I am inspired now! I have NOT had success with my aquapainters at all. I kinda switched to Whisper White, prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color. Now, I think I will bust out the aquapainters and give them a try with the WW paper and markers. Hmmmm... Thanks for the post and tutorial!
Wow! Julie, I am so glad I finally stopped and had a look at no copics - no problem!!! The next card I make I'm going to give that a try!!! Fantastic results you've gotten - and thanks for the tutorial!! Wonderful!!! Thank you!
Yep, I actually prefer the blender pen ~~ I feel like I have a bit more control
I may try it with a blender pen just to see how that works. I don't have an aquapainter but I use WC Brushes and I am having trouble controlling how much water I use. I have had the colors run (after I was finished no less) using the brushes- so just for fun I will try the blender pen!

If I don't like it I will just keep practicing.
That is why you see in the one picture that I squeeze the brush part between my fingers. I am taking away ink and excess water, so that I have more control. Maybe try squeezing some of the water away with your fingers before you spread the ink. HTH
I've always had a hard time trying to sell the watercolor paper and aquapainter. I didn't think they were worth the money...but now I know better. I think I knew all along it was just a matter of time before I'd find the perfect use for them. Thanks, I've already scheduled a watercoloring class for this week-end.
