I love books and this one is so intriguing. The numbered post its helped a lot, but I think it might matter whether you are lefthanded or righthanded. I'm lefthanded and had to reverse the actions.
I admit, I'm dumb too. I just don't get how this all goes together. This is frustrating that I'm this directionally challenged! I've read this link several times and still can't figure it out.

Oh thanks! That actually shows things much clearer. Now, if I can just get home and try it......wonder if they'd miss me here at work.....maybe....probably not....oh darn, I guess I should stay. But I'm playing tonight!

I made one of these too. I used the little envelopes. You can use any size. It is in the DD gallery, so you have to be a member to see it: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
okay...i saw a reference to envelope album in another thread so I did a search and pulled this one up....
I've been reading and following all the links for about an hour and I have decided that I am officially unable to understand. I understand the Papercrafts link but if that is not what Lisa is doing...I don't get it..how can you tuck the flaps inside when the flaps are adhered to the next envelope?
oh I am confused....
I have made envy books that are accordian. You glue the flap of one envy to the back of another, and so on till you have as many pages as you want. You can then put "stuff" in the envelopes and stamp the outsides, make a cover of CS and tie with a ribbon. Easy and a good way to use up extra envys.
That was the best thing you could have done Dawn!! I just tucked in each one according to the numbers you gave and within 10 seconds I had a little envie book!!! Thanks so much for the idea Lisa!! This will be a great card for the kids birthday--stick a couple dollars in each pocket for them to find!!

Hi all,
I have been reading this since last night and understand the frustration that some of you have had in figuring this out. So, I tried it and made up a little instruction page. Lisa - I hope this is right! Anyway, it seems to work.
The file was too large to put on this thread, so I'm going to try to put it into my gallery: Upstate Stamper.
My envelopes are different colors, for the purpose of explaining how to do it. This will work for a real card but I would make the front and back envelopes the same color so that you don't notice the flap on the back.
Also, I used envelopes whose flaps are like the SU envelopes. But, I had first tried it with envelopes whose openings are in a V shape and like those better. Anyway, let me know if this helps anyone!
Have a great 4th of July everyone!
Beth
SCS isn't allowing me to upload a photo. So, until I can figure out what is wrong, let me know if you would like for me to email the instructions to you.

I made a 'practice' book! Now for the real thing. :P

These look great to send to my sister and my nieces for birthdays! Thanks for sharing the idea. Dawn
Thanks for your tips! I practiced with scrap envelopes and looked at Lisa Lisa's pages in qcbetty's gallery and figured it out. So, here are the direct links to the pages of this mini envelope book by Lisa Lisa:
I don't know how i did it but i got all pockets on left side and on right none i read that thier was going to be some pages with no pockets . unless i read wrong. i was left with one flap hanging out . just put in in a opend slot. was very fun to do . will someday get a cam to post my work on here lol ;)

MINI Envelope book.......You Just put the envelope closures (flaps) inside each other. I moisten a few of the folds and make sure that it won't fall apart. It is really as simple as that! Make sure you don’t seal the part that you want open …..so you can hide a secret
Then you decorate to your hearts content!!!
I went to a free class and the ladies at T of M, a local store, they had a book ready for us to make!!! I just made my with SU stuff......I even entered one in the SU contest...didn't win...oh well.
Just play with your envelopes.....it’s a boat load of fun!!!
I did it! What really helped me was ddphelps telling me what to tuck envelope one in to envelope 2, envelope 4 into envelope 3 etc.etc. see post #9 - she's the da bomb and speaks my lanaguage!
pending approval take a peek jailbirdstamper's Gallery at Splitcoaststampers these are so fun - I'm custom making one for each of my older kids and tucking movie tickets, money etc inside the pockets for valentines day!

I just sort of stumbled upon this thread. I love the mini book. I called my upline and we are going to make one at the by-monthly meeting. I followed Lisa's instructions with one book and then I followed the post it note version. Thepost it notes style helped--at least I ended up with the same outcame as the original. YAY I GOT IT!!!! Now to really make one not the mock pattern!lol

ok ladies Please Please Please do not take this in the wrong way but when you say go look in my gallery for it and I find over 400 cards in the gallery ...... could you possibly give a clue? like maybe the name of the card you are refering too? I also tried several links and they either did not work at all or I did not have permission to view:( very frustrating. For those of you who "got it" I applaud you. TY ddphelps for the simple instructions (sounds easy enough) I'm grabbing some enves and giving it a try.
I guess I am not advanced enough to find things in this site, but I have not been able to find the mini book that everyone is talking about. The sites that some of you give say that I don't have permission to view that site or the site does not work. Please, someone show a picture of this that we can all see.

Ok these directions were easy but....I end up with 5 flap stuck to #1's enve. tried 997 ways but still ends the same. order 5,2,4,3,1 I suppose it doesn't matter but what the hello am I doing wrong ? It seems so simple I must be missing something really easy.
I see that you stick the flap into the envelope. but that makes me just two 'pages'. then anouther 2 pages not joined up to the first pair.
Does anyone have an ariel view?

Thanks Hawk! I tried it over, and over, and finally realised what you meant, but I had to turn one section upside down to put the flap in the right place, but whoopee! how darling is that!
for anyone else i ended up with envelope 5Forms front.
envelope 1, 2, the flaps of both 2&3 in 4 and 4's flap round the front and into 5! (5's flap at back of 4)
I found it helped me to think that you might have to bend one out the way!
Whoopee and thanks again,:-D:-D:-D I am so ultra-visual!
Lisa Lisa
Thanks I finally got it! And now I've got it and seen all the posted cards I can make one! Thanks everyone, been to all the galleries and taken a peek. TFS

Can you direct me to at least a couple of these galleries, and if there is a tutorial.
These sound rather interesting.
My problem I'm more of a visual person. If I see it, I can do it if I don't, it takes me time to visualize:confused:

THIS REALLY DOES HELP!! I lightly wrote my numbers on each envelope and followed your guide...and...I GOT IT!!! Very simple too follow but you do need to number your envelopes are you will get lost making this. Your pockets will not all be going in the same direction either.

I am so visual too, if there had been an ariel view it would have helped me, but think 'star card' and you may figure it out.

sorry I don't know why the post of a link didn't work, I'm not too techno. but i've tried the original post by LisaLisa its number post 28 and hers works, just drop back a page in this thread, it takes you to LL's gallery. then I used her name on LHS and viewed her gallery directly. you can check almost anyones gallery that way. certainly the ones in this thread.
Thak you very much for responding... I will be sure to take a look.
