Default Heated Pearls

I'm fairly new to stamping and love the pearl ex powders. How do you do heated pearls? Thanks for any help. Sue

Suen

I decided to back track and found that you had no response to your question. Maybe I can help.

Heated pearls is:
glossy cardstock
cheap school glue (like Elmer's)
Pearl Ex or powdered pearls
Scrap apaper to protect work surface

Pour a glob of glue on the c/s, use a large soft stipple brush and spread it all over the c/s.

Take a regular drinking straw and cut in thirds diagonally (gives you 3 pieces).
Use the straw to sprinkle PE/PP on the glue. Use 1-3 colors. Carefully using the same stipple brush work the PE/PP into the glue making sure all the PE/PP is wet with glue. A nice pattern with 1 color is a swirl. When you are happy with your design, use your heat tool and heat set the glue. It will start to bubble up. Do not overheat. Makes a very pretty background or a focal point. If using more than 1 color PE/PP be careful mixing that you don't get 'mud'.

HTH and sorry it took so long. If I can help any more letme know.

Ruthy

Wink I'd love to see a sample!

Ruth,

That sounds great! Do you have a sample to show us? My monthly class wants to learn more about using Pearl-Ex. Thanks!

Sorry, I do not have a scanner or digicam so can't post a durn thing. I'm pretty confident in your skills and talents so sure you can try one and see irl how pretty it is.

If you want more stuff to do with pearl ex, check out the resources on page 3 - there is a whole list of things to do with that stuff. Have fun!!

Sounds really cool. Where does one get glossy cardstock? I'm assuming it's different from photo paper.
