How do they do that?

I just got my "unfrogettable" Stamp set and wanted to try to make some of the cute cards I saw in the gallery. I'm just not sure how to get the frog on the toad stool. Do you use the stamp-a-ma-jig or a mask. I love the cards, but I don't like to fuss with cutting out small pieces. Got any ideas on the best (and easiest) way to do this?

The first one looks like the frog is cut out...the second one looks like it is masked...can't tell on the 3rd one. I have done a couple of cards with this set and I have cut my frog out.

I actually participated in a demo swap and I cut out 13 frogs...I did it while I was watching Guiding Light , and I was done cutting frogs before the show went off!

I think that I will try making a mask and see if it works well.

O.K. which do you mask, the frog or the toad stool? My guess (and it's just a guess) is stamp and mask the frog and then stamp over with the toad stool. What to ya think?

Yup that's exactly what you do. Whenever you are masking, you stamp what's in front first and then what's behind it next.

So you'd stamp the frog where you want him. And then again on a post-it. Cut out the post-it and put it on top of the frog on your paper. Then you can stamp the toadstool using your stamp-a-ma-jig to get it lined up right. remove your mask and have fun coloring!

I am someone who does a lot of applique work and I use freezer paper for the work I do. I found out yesterday that I can stamp on the freezer paper, cut it out then iron it lightly onto where I want to mask and it holds better than anything else I have tried. It matched up and stayed in place perfectly. I was so happy. Can't believe it took me 2 years to figure that one out. Oh--the wax from the freezer paper did not leave a residue either.

Thanks for the great tip! I've ironed freezer paper on back of tissue paper to give it the body I needed to make envelopes. I 'm sure going to give this tip a try.
