Your set-up looked great You had a very nice variety too! Where do you get your binder clips & bookmark clips? I'd like to lower my prices if I can find them somewhere less expensive....

I found my binder clips at Staples (12 for 3.99?) and the bookmarks at Walmart (15 for .97).
My picture is finally up, I forgot about the Sunday no posting thing. Click on the pic to see it larger. Thanks!
OMG! I love them! I think yours look better than Opah's did! Can I ask where you got the bags for them to go in? And also how much hot cocoa and what else do you put in there and how much of each of the items? Is there a "recipe" floating around out there?
Thanks again for posting the pics! It was well worth the wait! :-D

Thank you! I actually use the Wilton disposable decorating bags. I can buy them at Joann's in a box of 100 ($21) and I always use a coupon. I tried another brand and just like these because they are nice and thick. I then buy hot chocolate mix at Costco and marshmallows are always on sale this time of year. I crushed candy canes for the peppermint ones and found striped white chocolate chips for the double chocolate ones. I put in just under 3/4 cup hot choc and then just over a 1/2 cup of marshmallow and then 2 tbsp peppermints or white choc chips in the middle. Basically I experimented until I got the right "look":-D

Do you put a tag on it?? How much hot water do you use? An do you just "dump" the whole cone into a cup?? These are cute!! Thanks for sharing them!

Hi, yes I use a cute tag from the new Christmas tag set from PTI and directions on the back says to add 2Tbsp mix to 6 oz water or milk. Once the package gets open it will get all mixed up, but it's the presentation of it that people love. You could also make a large pot of hot chocolate and use the whole thing.

Awesome job, Carla! Well worth the wait! And I love the shutter idea. I really need to scour some estate sales to find some. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

PS. What is in the bags with the Kool-Aid?

I am so excited. This morning I posted on my blog my cocoa cones that I sell at craft fairs and I also posted that I sell them for $3 if anyone is interested in purchasing them. Well, tonite I just got an email from someone
who wants to purchase 17 for her daughter's class christmas party.
I can't believe it. I sell lots of these at local craft fairs but this is my first ever sale from my blog.

Very cute! I just looked at your blog! Would you mine sharing the details of how you made yours and where you got your supplies from. Also the recipe you make it with, ie. (it looks like you used chocolate chips and marshmellos). What does the back of your tag say? Which is adorable too!
Thanks!
Jennifer
P.S. Congrats on your order, that's awesome! I'm excited for you!!!

Wine Charms 0/7
Christmas Mice in a box 5/17
Coaster Post it Holders 12/25
Not bad for me since the last two years I barely made $120 after table fee.
I am curious to know what Magic Piggy wands are? And also, I noticed the Christmas Mice in a box...do you keep them chilled? And is there a saying that goes along with them? I love all your items and can't wait to see pics!!
With the closure of L & T they are selling their fixtures. I was in the store last night (Regina, SK Canada) and they are selling a card rack there. It has four turning card holders that have 32 cards slots each (128 card slots in total ~ but you could put several in behind the first). It is a good sized unit. They were selling it for $75.00. I thought of you ladies who do the craft fairs and thought I would mention you could find a really cool display for your cards.
I know this is kinda off topic, but someone may be interested!

The magic piggy wands are in my gallery.
And I didn't keep them chilled as it was fairly cool in the building. I am sad to say that I didn't have a saying with them. I only sold 5 anyway(and that was AFTER I marked them down to .50)

Where did you find the recipe for the peppermint stick bath salts? Thanks for the pictures, your table looked great!!

Would love to have a card rack or two, but on a smaller scale or even table top size. Would love to find some that are lower priced than 75.00.

This rack sounded very large -- better for a store... I have found that most craft fairs prefer smaller table-top ones if you are just doing a table, but if you have a booth, then there is floor space for a larger model.
I got two floor models for $5 and $10 each -- from a local small five and dime that was folding.
There are others out there, I am sure. I wish one of mine was a table-top one!

I actually have had that recipe for years, but if you just google homemade bathsalts, then just take the basic recipe and add Peppermint essential oils to your liking.
I will go down in my stamp room later (baby sleeping) and post it later today.
Yesterday, just a fluk, we stopped in a Goodwill and I ran across a table top card rack for $1.99. My suggestion is to keep checking places like this. I am so EXCITED!

just a real quick note for anyone in the KC area, I found an awesome deal on these great displays on craigslist.com. However, you have to pick them up... they won't deliver. They live in Lenexa, KS.

They are the ones I used for my craft fair... they work perfectly and are in awesome shape!
This sounds awesome! I`ve never come across these for sale before. Not that we don`t have card racks in Canada ;) , but these kinds of things don`t seem as easily come by here - although I haven`t been looking! $75 IS steep! I thought it could be seperated into four if one was willing to make their own bases. I posted just because I hadn`t really given thought to ever obtaining one of these before. Good luck with your crafty endeavours, ladies!

I just had a great day at a local boutique - and thought I would let you know what I thought was the best seller ----- color your own cards. I stamped the image, layered it with a (usually solid) layer, put it on a white card and stamped the sentiment inside. Sold them for $1 with an additional free card or marker set (got them for $1 at the Dollar Store) with the purchase of 5 cards. Sold 21 of them. Sold some of my own cards - but not many.
Love those hot chocolate cones! I think I'll try them at my craft fairs next year. Like most of you gals, I didn't do too well at the bazaars this year, either. It's strange, too, because I don't have top dollar items. Oh well, maybe next year will be better.
I'm just reporting back in with results from my December Christmas faire at my son's school. I know it's a bit late, but I've just now been able to inventory everything and figure out how much I made, lol.
Here's what I made/sold:
- set of 4 notecards & matching pen in a purse box (there's a pic in my gallery): made 3/ sold 1 @$10
- comp notebooks: made 8/sold 3 @$5 each
- small square tile magnets: made 10/sold 8 @ $2.50 ea
- coaster calendars: made 10/sold 4 @ $2 ea
- jumbo wooden clothespins: made 10/sold 6 @$3 ea
- office binder clips: made 5/sold none @ $2 (this got lost on my small table amongst everything else; need to promote them better)
- BIA post it note holders with matching pen: made 10/sold 4 @ $5 ea
- band aid tins with 3 gift mini gift cards: made 8/sold 2 @$5 ea (did better on these last year)
- tooth fairy tins: made 20/sold 6 @ $3 (also these did WAY better last year)
- kids' color me card kits (4 cards and a 24 pack of crayons): made 4/ sold 3 @ $4 ea
- altered assorted frames from the $ store: made 7/ sold 7 @ $3 (no glass) or $6 (with glass, larger frames). Also got an order for two more to make. I had these left over from previous faires and just wanted to get rid of them, so they were priced accordingly. Next time will not go that cheap.
- set of 4 tile coasters: made 3 sets/ sold 3 sets @ $12/set and got orders for 4 more sets! I couldn't get rid of these a couple of years ago, but this year there was high interest.
- set of 12 gift tags in a decorated pouch/sleeve: made 3/ sold 3 @ $3 and got an order to make 4 more! Again, couldn't get these to move last year but this year one lady bought them up.
- chocolate bar wrappers: made 12/ sold none! @ $2.50 ea. I was surprised with this one, I thought I'd get more takers. :(
- nugget tins: made 8/ sold none! @ $5 Guess the chocolates weren't a big thing for this school crowd, but I did get a lot of lookers and comments on how cute they were.
- Jumbo paper clip bookmarks: made lots/ sold 5 @ $1.50 (these were great upsellers with other matching stuff)
- set of 3 stamped onesies in lunch tin and gift card: made 1/sold 1 @ $15 and got an order to make 1 more!
- mailboxes: made 8/ sold 6 @ $5 each - these were great sellers for me! They were empty too, didn't even have to put anything in them. They were very popular, am going to make more for next year. Glad I didn't open up with a lower price, as I wasn't sure if people would pay $5 for it.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with making over $300 this year. I wasn't sure if people were going to open up their pocketbooks, given the economy, so I priced accordingly on some things. I think that worked. Also, this being my 3rd year of doing this faire, I've learned not to make too much of one thing and did a lot of alterables with DSP and not too much stamping or very simple stamping. This made things come together much more quickly for me than in years past, and I didn't stress out as much as I did before (it also helped to have inventory from years past still sitting around too I guess!). Also I used coordinating DSP among different projects so items could stand alone as a gift or they could be put together for a coordinated gift.
I forgot my camera so didn't take any pics, but I still have a few things left over. Just let me know if you want a pic of anything.

I would love to see the altered frames, also the pouches with tages...sounds very cute! Congrats on a great sale!
hi everyone - just joined short time ago and I love all the ideas here - will need at least 2 more lifetimes to do all the great stuff - just did 2 shows and did very well with cards at $2 and my layered ornaments (see one with my name) - also sold tons of 'snowman poop' with the addition of a packet of cocoa w/ the marshmallows - now am working on valentine's cards, etc. - any suggestions on cute 'gag gifts' with the love theme? - I have a great source of sales with my best friend owning a spa with a gift shop inside - thanx, carole
What are layered ornaments? I did very well with my snowman poop too,it's funny what people buy. I also sold ALOT of the hershey nuggets wrapped with corset and bow.
for finfan1964 - layered ornaments are any stamp that can be used as an ornament (doesn't have to be Christmas) - I stamp the image several times on different color cardstock, cut out 'layers' large to small - use foam tape or dots for the 3-D look, then add glitter, stones and bow - holly berry house and outlines are my favorite stamp companies for this item - hope this helps
Can someone tell me the best place to find the pens to alter? I see all kinds of "beaded pens" or "Glittered pens" but where do you find the pens? I appreciate any help!

Cheryl, I buy the RSVP pens which what I like to bead the best at our local Wal-Mart or Target. I have looked at Office Max but they are more expensive. I just try to shop around to find the best prices. Hope that helps. Kathy
I guess i must be a visual person.Do you have any pictures or know of a link to see one?I'm from Mo.I have to be shown:rolleyes:
hi - the picture with my name is one - don't know if it will enlarge - also, go to 'outline rubber stamps' and 'holly berry house' (just google the name) and find the links to ornaments and directions - 'outlines' has the best directions with step by step pictures - easy, but time-consuming, but I sell lots - hope this helps - carole:-D
