Default Another pen question

Love the pens with beads inside!! so cool But I just saw an example that used Bic pens -that had the lid on? How'd you do that? Does the clip on the lid fit over the beads?

I put the adhesive right up to the pen cap and the long slider part does fit over the beads. I use the BIC pens all the time. My problem right now is that Iam trying to keep the beads on the adhesive. It seems like everytime I pick it up the beads rub off. Not a ton, but enough. Any ideas for this?

Are you using the red tape? and I have heard it has to be warm?- maybe roll and smoosh the beads on - all these are ideas from other people - that is all i can think of

I've been using the really sticky double sided adhesive tape and it did work once, but did not seem to hold everything last night (I just made a couple for the customers I am giving catalog packs to). I am going to try again tonight and see if I use different double sided sheets.

Aimee,
I have tried the sheets, other super adhesive tape, but the only thing I have found that will hold the beads is terrificly tacky tape - comes in other names - but they all seem to have a red lining that you peel off

I read somewhere that if you put a thin coat of crystal effects over the entire surface of beads that it keeps the beads in place. Hope this helps.

When I make the BIC pens I spend at least 3-5 minutes rolling them in my hands and on the table to make sure those microbeads are seated and the excess is off.

When I'm microbeading something on a card I use my brayer to roll over the microbeads to really seat the beads in the sticky tape.

I've made hundreds of pens and cards with the Pennywise Arts Microbeads and O'SO Sticky Tape  I hope this helps!!
