Default Beading Part of An Image

Next, I'll show you how easy it is to bead just part of an image in any shape you desire!

I'll also be very careful to put all the steps INTO the folder!!

Default Taking It To The Next Level Beading PART of an Image 1

Next is one of my favorite beadie techniques!
You’ll learn how to bead just PART of an image!

So, get out your supplies again and follow along!

To start with – you’ll need to gather the items listed on the supply list:

Clear Glass No Hole Micro Beads
O'So Sticky Tape Sheet (Paperback Tape Sheets can be used as well!)
Cardstock, Stamps, Inks - your choice!
Tidy Tray, or shallow plate or tray Glass and metal work well - no static!
Sharp Scissors and Citrus Cleaner for cleaning sharp sticky scissors (Goo -Gone for example)

Optional: An Old Brayer if you have one!

This time I am using a sheet of the O’So Sticky Tape (Original)
And Staz On Ink

I stamped my image onto the kraft paper side of the tape and let it dry. I was in a bit of a hurry – so I used my heat tool to help it along faster! Just be careful not to get to close and melt the tape!

I also stamped the SAME image onto a piece of cardstock paper.

I colored in my image and then I cut out the flowers only of the image that I stamped onto the O’So. Both are shown here:

Now this is where you MUST pay attention!! BEFORE you do anything READ THIS FIRST!!

For this to go right – you MUST peel off the ORANGE LINER FIRST!! Otherwise, you would end up with a “reverse? image of your flowers and then they wouldn’t line up onto the stamped ones!!

Okay – now you may peel – but the ORANGE LINER ONLY!
Then place it over the top of your prepared image. See?

Now peel off the paper liner – and smush your image into the beads – brayer them in good – just like before!

NOTE: This might be a good time to tell you that when you are working with O’So – you should try to touch the sticky stuff as LITTLE as possible – it’s that natural oil in your hands again!! It will make your O’So Sticky NOT so sticky! If you are really struggling – try using some small tweezers instead of your fingers!

And here is my beaded image! See how only the flowers have beads on them? I could have beaded the leaves if I wanted to – just by changing the way I cut out the stamped image on the O’So Sticky Tape Sheet!

Thanks for all your nice words gals! I just see so many that have the beads and don't know what to do with them - so I've made it my mission to TEACH everyone I meet HOW to use them so that they won't have so much BIBHUIY - pronounced bib-hooey (Bought It But Haven't Used It Yet)in their stamp rooms!!

Besides - they really are a fabulous embellishment that can go well on ANYTHING!! ;0)

Have fun!!

Is there an alternative to the O'so paper? I hate purchasing online and only do so when I can't find what I want locally. (It's a security thing)

Default Wow, Wow, Wow

Love it! What kind of beads are those? They must be clear since you can still see the flower colors underneath?

O'So Sticky Tape is the same product as Redliner and Bead Bond, which I have seen in sheets. Wonder Tape is also the same adhesive, but I have not seen it available in sheets in our area.

Yes, these are the clear micro beads - their trasparency is what makes it so cool!!

Default beads

Thank you for sharing the wonderful tutorial on beads. They can add so much "punch" to a project!

I have done some beading before and I just use my SU! two way glue pen. It works great. I did it on a scrapbook page about a year ago and the beads are still holding on! Just a suggestion if you can't get that tape in your area- which we usually can't!

Oh Yes! Absoulutely! A good strong glue works great too! When I want a more "dimentional" look to my bead designs, I always grab my bottle of Crystal Effects!
