At lease i got a card done before I went to church. It was a tearful time after when the priest explained the table of candles that had been set up. It was set up by our school kids to remind us to pray.
So sad!

Oh Joyce my heart breaks when reading your post, and other posts about the tragedy in Florida and all of the others that have gone. Something has to be done and it is so refreshing to see the young kids making a stance, and hopefully your politicians will listen to them. We made changes to our gun laws here and it has been for the better....there has to be a way to make life difficult for people to get hold of weapons.
Sending hugs and love to you and everyone in the US and on this site.
Happy day everyone.

My turn for the challenge this week. I am not very inventive and already thought of one challenge for the month, the Stash Buster scrapbook challenge. I thought of this about a week ago, a Stash Buster Card Challenge!
Challenge:
1. Use paper somewhere on your card that is not card card stock or printed paper. Ex. Vellum, burlap, or fabric. Or anything else you can think of.
2. At least one of following: brad, or button, or eyelet.
3. Use one of your punches, to punch something for your card,
4. Use a border of some kind somewhere on your card.
Use that stash! I know you got it!
I will be back later with a sample! Happy Monday!

Morning , sunny here but cool, enjoying our time with the boys, we took them walking yesterday, GS1 said he didn’t want to go as he had plans, I asked what plans, he said oh like drawing! Ha,ha, nice tryWe watching the men fishing for crabs on the pier and had a walk and then milkshakes he didn’t want to go grocery shopping so did paper, scissors and rock with grandad but he didn’t win so then he did arm wrestling still didn’t win so I said I would stay in the car and we played would you rather be a ..... or a ...... trouble us he can go on for hours!
GS1 got his grey belt at Jujitsu last night so we all went down to watch, we offered to be his cheer leaders but he said he would rather we didn’t, can’t imagine why!
Lynn, my dr said one of the things we could do about me not sleeping, is Change my hours going forward. Start staying up an hour later, then another hour ,then sleeping in daytime, until we get back to right hours. Told him, no I am doing it! But reminded me of what you are going through! Hugs!

Sharon that doesn’t sound good, would totally confuse me, I have nights when I don’t sleep very well and nights when I feel I haven’t slept but steve tells me I have as he’s been awake, funny how when we are young you could sleep forever.
Happy Friday everyone...the sun is shining here and pleasant. I hope you are all warm and dry wherever you are. My sister told me they had snow in the UK last week...eek!
Lynn, I so hope you can get some relief. Insomnia is shocking. I am sending some positive thoughts your way and wish you some rest and time to craft or do whatever you love.
Jan, I love your stories about your poppets...it so reminds me of what our little ones say...such funny stories. Enjoy them.
Here's a card I made for our little poppet who turned 5 today....we rang her first thing and shall go up to their place later...eldest son says he will push me around on their wheelie study chair...LOL...I'm fine. Just can't stand or sit for too long or the knee balloons. I haven't posted on the gallery as it was made whilst lying on the couch on my craft tray and I used what I had available downstairs and what I could get hubby to fetch for me without him having a heart attack about what is in my craft room and how much money have I spent...oops! I told him this year is destashing year and I won't spend...well not this month LOL. I watched a simple youtube video on how to make this...Emily wanted a unicorn and certain colours and sparkle so I tried my best
Happy day everyone and enjoy your weekend. Take care.

Thanks Sharon...ill let you know what she thinks. We are heading up to theirs in about half an hour
I'm going ok thanks.....I went out yesterday to some medical appointments which really was just a case of getting into the car and walking into my appointments. Today I will do the same and just lie on our son's couch if sitting doesn't work. We will only stay for dinner and until the poppets bedtime.
I saw you are doing the VSN. I am going to look but really don't know what to expect...it sounds fun but the time difference may not work for me. Hope not. I blame Lela for this....lol. I really need to scrap.
Happy Friday.

Sharon, our poppet loved her card. As soon as she saw it she said "it's a unicorn" and when I showed her how to pull the ribbon...carefully.....she kept saying "I love it, love it nannie". Everyone was impressed....small things.
Ladies, I also joined the VSN today and had such fun. I kept up with the challenges and am still amazed at that and the fact I made 3 cards...whatever next. I have since, however, managed to lose one of my cards out of my gallery. Not sure what I did but as the card is to do with bugs, it's flying somewhere around the SCS site LOL.;) I'm not sure what I am doing wrong as none of my cards are showing up in the VSN gallery either....hopefully Lee/Misti/Kim...or Sharon or someone ;) will point me in the right direction.
Jan, Ina, Kathy...hope you are all ok...miss your posts.
Lynn, hope you managed some sleep today and where are you flying to?
Sharon I still have your challenge to do and it's on my list with about another 10 LOL.....;)
Happy Saturday everyone. Keep safe and enjoy whatever you plan to do today. Hugs

Jayne, if you can edit, edit the location of tour card.
Select special events, VSN, etc,, next anther drop down box- select last category VSN or VSBN, then another drop box opens and select February 2018 VSN (top choice).
That is how it works when loading, not sure about editing, but if you can, and save, don’t delete.
Maybe pm one of Kim or Misti, or Lee.
I am so glad you played! Isn’t it fun to do it in real time with everyone doing the same!
It will be a blast when they have the main event! I think two or three times as many challenges over two days!
Ina? Looking forward to you coming back.
Joyce Ann, I saw you did one of the challenges last night!
Lynn, I saw you check in once.

Oh, Jayne, I knew she would! It just makes my heart so happy to here this!
I, too, haven't been doing much in the way of cards until last night. I made 6 bags using scraps of fabric - stash-buster! I have a doll dress I'm slowly working on, but needed to play with my paper for a while so last night I started the VSN challenges. Can't say I will complete, but ce que sera sera! We will be having company from Canada soon and although we will be doing lots of crafting with Pauline I will still be busier with meals and other chores. Cards as they come.

Sorry everyone. My body and brain are still not in the same time zone.. don't know why.. maybe because I did not sleep one night at all? Oh well I am trying sleep restriction. I am getting out of bed the same time every morning so my body will know it is time to get up. Unfortunately I sit there waiting till I can take my sleep med, then hope to sleep. UUUGGHH
Lynn, here's the progression of things when I fall.
1. Stunned! How'd I do that?
2. Looking around to see if anyone was watching!
3. Hysterical laughter.
4. Laughter changes to intermittent laughter then tears.
5. Check myself for broken bones or cuts and scrapes.
6.This next step changes depending on the outcome of step number five.
If I find cuts and bruises I cry a little more.
If I find no cuts and bruises, I go back to step number 3!;)
Jayne, the unicorn card is amazing, well done, especially seeing as you are not mobile, pleased to hear your little one loved it, always gives you a happy glow.
We have spent the afternoon firstly at the park playing hide and seek, where I had to find the boys, it’s a massive climbing structure with slides etc, I will feel it tomorrow with my knees I’m sure, afterwards we sat in the sun on the deck making a Pinewood Derby Car To Take to race at the Cub scouts next Saturday, they are given a block of wood to chisel, sand etc, joey drew the shape on the side, grandad did the sawing then they showed Joey how to sand the shape, he’s now painted it blue and it needs another coat before son puts the wheels on, it also has to weigh no more than 5 oz, youngest managed to send his flying over the deck, the garden is a steep hill so poor son had to scramble down to find it!
They are back to school tomorrow so after dropping them off it will be a day of peace and quiet, well before collecting them for swimming lessons
We are going through a mild spell right now, but by the end of the week, it will get cold again. I keep my house temps around 61F degrees, as I heat electrically and that is expensive. So i use a little quilt and a heavy sweater when sitting around in the evening. Our challenge this week will be to feature anything thzt will keep us warm, such asblankets, quilts, coats, etc. I made two samples, but cannot seem to hang on tothe internet on my laptop long enough to link them, so I willtry again later.
Sharon, cards were found and the gallery mods fixed them. Everyone was amazing and so helpful. Me on the other hand was a clot, and learnt....I must read instructions. I used to tell myself this in exams so why don't I do it now lol  it was fun and I will try to join in the next one....just have to see what's happening...but definitely will try to be there. I so felt as though we were all in the room together chatting..so cool
Kathy sending hugs...hope everything is ok.
Joyce Ann....thank you and hope you get lots of sewing done. I need to get back to scrapping this week but already my week is getting busy with visitors and visiting and appointments. I just arranged to go and see a friend who is ill and realised I can't drive yet...fortunately another friend is going to go with me and will only be a short visit. My head is somewhere other than on my head at present...I'm off with the fairies  Canadian visitors will be nice...I like Canadians.....and Americans..everyone. Lol.
Visitors can be hard work.....I like a quote I heard on a show recently....fish and visitors go off after days...or something along those lines..lol. I know when we have visitors I enjoy them arriving and look forward to them leaving after 1 week....our visitors usually come for long periods as they live so far away...haha. I hope you have an enjoyable time with yours.
Lynn, I like cats. I used to have 2 many years ago. Hubby doesn't. Now we have no pets as we travel too much. Our eldest has 2 dogs. 2nd boy 2 cats and his fiance is a vet nurse and still studying to go further...they will have a menagerie lol....and youngest would like us to get a dog. Hubby says no. I like small dogs as I was bitten on the head at age 5 by a large dog and now I have a phobia about dogs...and yes it does explain everything..lol
Jan, thanks re the unicorn card. I can relate to climbing up monkey bars, slides, etc. The derby cars sound amazing. Enjoy your quiet time. I find a glass of wine helps after our poppets have left or when I have a breather as they like to be entertained.....or a cuppa if it's not wine o'clock........lol. I wouldn't swap time with them though for anything.
Ina, you're back. Thanks for the challenge.
Happy day everyone. Time for me to check out...nite

I put sewing on the back burner after making those 6 bags. Do have a doll dress half done and waiting for me to return. VSN must have gotten me back in the mood because I've make a few these last few days.
Yes Jayne, know what you mean about company. We have a lady flying in from Canada Wednesday. She will stay with us for only a few days then her DH comes and they will make other journeys in Florida. My only concern is that she is a big eater of wheat and animal flesh and DD and I are not. Hope she finds satisfaction with my vegetarian meals. She will love crafting, though!

Joyce Ann, I wouldjust go ahead and cook your regular meals. A visitor should be happy to go with the flow and maybe learn to eat a bit healthier too. That is how I found out that gluten free was better for me ....... by visiting my son for a month. Enjoy your visit.
Jayne, I hope you are healing, less pain and more mobility. Canadians are great, as you say! Te, he! I wish I had saved enough to visit my niece while she was studying in Sydney, but she did not have lofging room for me anyway and she comes home this summer to finish her doctorate here.
As you can see, I am back, but I was not really away, just had so many things on my plate last week. Sharon, great challenge last week. Thank you, and I will try to make a card this week.
Hello to everyone else too. Got my wash on the line this morning, as it is sunny, windy and will get up to 50F degrees later. What a crazy winter!
Happy Tuesday everyone.....dinner over here and time to watch a show with hubby.
Joyce Ann I don't eat a lot of meat so I would make a good guest LOL. I agree with Ina...just cook your regular meals and your visitor may enjoy them.
Ina, I am healing, thank you. Hardly any pain and tomorrow I have my stitches out. Today was my best day for walking/moving and I hope I get good news tomorrow and can start to get back into life although I have enjoyed the time at home, but wondered where it's gone. I have to discipline myself more when I start back at golf and doubt the gym will be on my schedule for another few weeks. Shall see what the Dr says.
Lynn...I hope you have found yourself and are getting back into things.
Have a wonderful day my scrapping/card friends...Hugs from Oz
