Is anyone here a SU sales rep? I don't have a big order to place; just basic black cardstock and a bone folder. I thought I'd ask here before looking around. Thanks..

Dani they sound very cute and funny, our Grand puppy Eddie has been stealing socks from the clothes airer!

I’ve bought some of the plastic envelopes with magnetic sheets inside, I’ve been relocating my dies and putting the photos from the packaging inside, unfortunately I didn’t keep some of the packaging! I’ve put them all in a box in the top drawer near my Bigfoot as Steve always calls it, I’ve also put my embossing folders in a box too, I still have some in cassette cases for now! I also made two cards!

Dani, my birthday isn't until March 6 th. Jan mailed early since she lives in Spain. We were just surprised that it took less than a week to get here! It takes longer than that sometimes for some in the states!

Hello everyone. Well, my weekend did not go as planned. I ended up with some type of stomach bug and was sick all weekend. I do feel better today tho...whew!
Sharon and Lisa - Thank you for giving me some people to ask about the S.U.
Kathy - Well then, I have plenty of time to get a birthday card out to you. I have an address list from 2016....ummm has your address changed by chance?
Everyone - I want to say THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for the nice comments on the cards that I recently uploaded. It has given me my confidence back. When I switched from card making I started doing wood working and upscaled stuff from the Dollar Tree. My daughter kept telling me "Mom, we love the stuff you are making...however....everyone appreciated the cards more.
It took me a while but it did sink in...she is right. However, I thought because I hadn't done card making in so long I lost my touch. However, I am finding out that I haven't lost my love for card making. And all of your kind comments has given me the confidence to dive back in full force. So thank you. I do have to tell you....if you don't use your card making supplies for a while...they can go bad. Ink pads dry up, markers dry up, glue gets hard....etc.. However, I am replenishing my supplies as I need them.

Dani some of my craft stuff has dried up as I didn’t craft hardly at all last year , my gilding wax has dried up, I’m not sure if I can revive it, inks and glues have dried too !
Good to hear you are feeling better after your bug.

We had plans to paint the bedroom wall this morning as we had some damp after all the rain we’ve had this winter but Steve Had a message last night to say he had to be at the hospital this morning at 9 am, when we arrive early, firstly his medical card wouldn’t work to get his appointment slip and then when he got it said 8 am, at least he was seen right away! The nurse insisted he came out in a wheelchair in case he felt dizzy after his treatment, scared me as I thought he’d been taken ill , of course He had to be silly pulling a funny face trying to scare me. He has three more appointments this week so that’s a job for next week, afterwards we went to buy Steve some Sketchers trainers to help with his bad foot , they had an offer on a second pair so I bought some with flowers on to wear in the summer with shorts! Like I haven’t already got two brand new pairs in the wardrobe haha!

Default Hedgehog help

I spotted this card on Pinterest. The person put a hedgehog with a tree. I like the cute hedgehog. It must be SU as she is an Artisan. Does anyone recognize this hedgehog? https://pin.it/5TqWjP5Ot

I found it! That hedgehog is from Storybook Friends, I couldn't save her blog post as I searched through Pinterest to get to her blog. She didn't post a direct link, so it was many pages to get back to sale-a-bration from January 2025.

G'mornin everyone. Thank you to those that gave me Vikkijo's name for SU stuff. She is still selling so...I am sure I will be spending some money today. lol....I only wanted a couple of things, however, she said we now have to order online and the catalog is right there. Well, I know me, if I look at that catalog I will find more goodies.
I think I am a week off on the Alphabet Challenge. I posted my dark card last week. I made a card for the letter E...ecru. So should I wait until next week to post this one? If so, I will make another card for D just to stay on track.

Jan - Thank you. I am so happy to be back on my feet. And girl, I do not think I will ever walk away from paper crafting again. First off, my supplies were not put away 'my way'. Nothing was organized and I am missing so many things. Second..replacing the things I lost and the things that have dried up is a big fat bummer!!! And switching my craft room around is a "HUGE" task. And as my DD said "my cards are more appreciated then the other things I was making." Plus, I do love it!!!

Lisa - I love the hedgehog card. I am a huge hedgehog fan and this set is adorable. I am glad you shared this with us.

Good morning! It has warmed up here and we've had rain so I think all of our snow is gone much to DD2's sadness. On the other side of the country, DD1 is getting slammed with a nor'easter she said. (I think that is how you spell it!)

I have sore muscles because yesterday, DD2 and I cleared two huge hallways at the church of all the movable furniture by ourselves. The last huge hallway and the huge lobby area we did have some help doing. I knew I would be sore today. It was good exercise! They are resurfacing/polishing the flooring in the halls and lobby starting today which is why the need for the furniture removal. I had planned to do it all myself but was very thankful for DD2's assistance.

Dani, tomorrow is the day to post your ecru card.

Wow, that was a fast delivery to get your card so quickly, Kathy!

Gracie, I love reading cozy mysteries with history in them. They often cause me to go check out a biography or two as well. There is a mystery series called The Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen that I love and it has caused me to read several biographies on the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson as they show up here and there in that mystery series. Thanks for the info on the series you are reading, I'll have to see if I can get them.

Lisa, I mostly read on the Kindle app since the libraries closed in 2020. They were closed for so long and someone told me about Bookbub who sends me an email every day with their deals which frequently include free books. I can customize it to the genres I prefer so they aren't sending deal information on things I'm not interested in. I do miss going to the library and reading a book that I'm actually holding. Both of my girls prefer physical copies of books too though I'm not sure why.

Jan, I love the sound of your organization for your dies. I need to get rid of a couple of drawer units of patterned paper because I have a rolling cart waiting to become my die cutting station so my dies and embossing folders and Big Shot will all live on it.

Your Steve is such a crack up!

Lisa, glad you found the hedgehog.

I found the hedgehog but can find a set being sold. I can find many knockoffs, but not the SU one. I think there is a wait time before demos are able to sell them. Or else, it was too liked so much they are not selling. I showed it one of my daughters to see if she had any ideas based on what I own. My Mom had a few hedgehog sets and I owned a few, but none are standing like this. Maybe there is another critter standing. I like the idea of placing a critter under the tree.

I'm trying to mix my colors again to make eggplant to match the flower that I colored. I know there is paper upstairs but I haven't asked my daughter to really look for it. She is planning a blood draw today, so I will let her drink her water to hydrate those veins. My Mom had those veins that were a hard stick. I inherited them and passed them to both daughters. The best trick I know is to drink a lot for a few days prior and then ask the attendant to heat the arm if they can't feel the bein. Also, make sure and keep your arm warm with a jacket. I find that if I am too cold, my veins are not found easily. The body seems to draw it inside more. Sometimes the attendant looks at me like I have no idea, but they do not know my veins.

Catherine - Isn't it crazy that exercise is supposed to be good for us, yet, it can be so painful??? I do hope you feel better soon. That was very kind of you to do all that heavy work. Thank you for letting me know the posting day. I did know that....I was thinking today was Wednesday.

Lisa - OMG thank you so much for the trick with keeping the arm warm and hydrating yourself before they take blood. I HATE needles to the point that if they won't use a butterfly needle they don't touch me. My veins do not like to be poked they hide every time. So now I know how to fix that. Thank you so much!!!!

Dani, they always have to use the butterfly needle on me. My daughters are worse as they sometimes go to the hand or wrist. Those are painful.

Lisa, there is an older set of hedgehogs that are all standing. It's called Hedgehog Happiness. Maybe you have that one in your stash.

Melanie, that might be one that my Mom had. I will ask my daughter to look. The hedgehog with the balloon could work as it is standing. Thank you for mentioning it.

Kathy, blackberry bliss is the same color as Gina K's elegant eggplant. I have used them interchangeably for several years. It seems every company has the same colors with different names.

Thanks Lisa! I was hoping it would pass because it's the closest I have to eggplant. That was my second card because I thought I had taken a picture of the first one but can't find it on either tablet or phone. The first one I made into a thinking of you and send it to a woman from our church. I sent out three from the prayer chain list. One I sent to a woman that I used to work at the church with in kids club. Her husband has cancer and the prayer list says they found more and have stopped treatment. I feel sad for her. And for him. One went to a lady who had surgery for tumors and the third was to a man who's lives alone, probably in his late 70's and had fallen. He never married and did live with a brother but now lives at the "manor." That's mostly older people with low income. My mother in law lived in there for a few years before she went to the nursing home and then passed in 2011.

Dani, yesterday they tried the elbow vein, but it left. Rather than continue to stick her, they got a heating pad and placed it on her other hand. Then drew the blood there. She is a bit sore, but not bruised. Her blood work was good.

Remember, ladies, you don't have to use every color in the challenge chart. If I don't have a certain color, I will either skip it or fudge with something similar. I may have all the colors, but don't feel like using them all. No problem. The whole idea is to have fun and create. So please don't stress about using an exact color. Remember there are no challenge police. I am notorious for pushing the boundaries. Come and join me!!!!!

Steve had blood taken yesterday, he said he never felt a thing, he does have problems sometimes but never in haematology, he did have to go to the nurse at his second appointment as his arm kept bleeding due to blood thinners.

A long day yesterday as we were surprised by three appointments not the two we knew about, we left home at 630am for two 8 am appointments, we didn’t get home until 2pm, the consultant was the third appointment, to check Steve’s swollen foot which has been getting better but by the time we’d rushed around the hospital his foot was swollen again, Oh well what else would do with our retirement haha!

we did get to paint the bedroom wall on Tuesday and today we are painting the back wall of the villa, the hail we had has taken all the paint off, Steve has a roller on an extension pole so should be a quick job!

I need to read the chat more thoroughly, I just wanted to come on and say hi. I'm up north, visiting family in northern WI. My sister in law Judy's birthday is tomorrow, going out for a nice dinner. My sister and I have been bumming around, thrift shops, a fab book store in Rhinelander. I'm staying with my sister and her husband for a change, now that she's retired. It feels funny to not see much of my brother now that I'm here. I'll see him tomorrow night. Judy is a better cook than my sister and I miss her delicious cooking. But I'm grateful they want me to visit.
Melody, went to Golden Harvest for lunch and shopping. Yum yum.

Good morning! Yesterday I was in a rush to get to work and didn't have a chance to check in. Thankfully, they finished the floors at the church yesterday. On Tuesday, they had finished two of the hallways and just had the lobby and a third hallway left. They are hallways but they are very wide with lots of furniture in them so people can gather and sit and chat. So yesterday morning, one of the pastors, the church secretary, and myself loaded the furniture back into the two hallways they finished on Tuesday. Then they finished the lobby and third hallway before I needed to leave for the day so I just went over and started moving furniture back in by myself. Though I since I was by myself, I used a hand truck and a flat cart for some of it...work smarter, not harder! When I left there were just two consoles left to put in place but they are too heavy for me to do by myself. I felt quite accomplished! And then I didn't need to go to the gym that I don't belong to for a workout because I got it at work! LOL

Hmmm, Lisa, now you've made me wonder if I have easy veins or not. I always thought I did but it may be because I always drink a lot of water every day.

Dani, I'm just out of shape so that is why the furniture moving made me sore. I need to be much more consistent with exercise and weight lifting.

Needles have never bothered me, thankfully. I did just google a butterfly needle to see what you are talking about.

Kathy, I am putting your card in the mail today on my way to work however, I am mailing it at my favorite rural post office so will be curious to see how long it takes to get there. I imagine it would be quicker if I mailed it down in Rocklin where I work.

Melody, I had to chuckle at your comment about being notorious for boundary pushing! Love it.

Wow, Jan, that is an early morning to me. I'm glad you were able to get all the appointments done.

Happy birthday to your sister-in-law, Jean!

I had my CT this morning. I didn't realize how fast it would be. They put a small port in one room, took me to the scan room, explained what would happen and then less than five minutes I was done. The woman who took the scan explained to me that as the dye goes in I will get a warm sensation like a hot flash and I may even feel like I wet myself but she said believe me you did not. I'm glad she told me that ahead of time. I'm not sure I will hear anything before monday. I imagine these results will go to my PCP since he's the one that ordered it. I'm glad I did my Walmart run before the scan.

Awesome! It went quickly and she explained. I'm sure your doctor will have the results quickly..

I'm not a happy camper with upcoming changes at SU! I'm afraid they will not be getting a lot of orders from our group. They will be changing their ink pads to a totally different style and they will be going up $5 per pad! They are getting rid of the annual catalog and just having three regular catalogs a year. January May and September. Prices are going up on a lot of stuff. And next year there will be a color refresh! The new ink pads will have separate bottoms and lids and be held together with magnets. They say just like close to my heart ink pads. I still have some of the old linen pads along with some foam. There's no way I'm replacing any of those. With the new storage I have for my ink pads I'm pretty sure the new one pads would be able to fit in there. I sure hope they don't get rid of some of my favorite colors. I don't mind them shifting them in color families. Right now I have all of the colors and I kept quite a few of my favorites that retired. I don't buy the in colors unless there's a particular color I really really like. Like I like pebbled path and boho blue and secret sea. But I buy the re-inkers and just make my own little stamping spots. I just feel like they're trying to push out the hobby demos and those demos who don't use this as a business.

Kathy, so sorry to hear that about SU! Always trying to make more money!
Hoping for good results for you! Glad the test went fast.

No dyes for me, I react to them!!

Jean, so glad you are having fun up North!! Happy Birthday to your SIL!

Melody, you go right ahead and push those boundaries, you do it fabulously!!

And yes it is true, you do not have to use all of the colors of the week! Just have fun and upload a card!!

Getting caught up on commenting after a family birthday, baking cakes and cheesecakes. Now to stay caught up since more birthdays in March! One son wants eclairs!!

Have a good rest of your week everyone!!

Kathy, I stopped buying SU quite a few years ago. Their prices just kept going up, up, up. I also didn't like that they went to unmounted and clear stamps. I have a bunch of unmounted from various companies, and rarely use them. I much prefer the wood mounts, even though they take up more space. As far as colors and ink pads go, I don't have the original ink pads, which were the flip top and smaller. I got rid of those. Now I have the older linen ones. I refused to buy all the new sponge kind, so I'm sure most of my colors are outdated, but since I'm no longer a demo, it matters not at all. I quit being a demo when SU was requiring that a demo could only post SU anywhere on line, including a personal blog. I figure I should be able to use whatever I want or have, including a lot of Tim Holtz ink and other inks like color box. Every company has their own style of images, and no one company has everything that a person would choose to use, so I don't feel it's right to be limited by one company in what I use.

I should probably go through my stamps and purge a bunch of them that I never use. Getting rid of some would save me a lot of time searching for a certain stamp. It's been quite a while since I've purged.

There is a thread in the General Stamping Forum where someone began mentioning the changes in price with SU. My sister is a demo, but she is thinking of letting it go. I do not buy enough to help her out, especially since I have to place the order on my own. I used to give her orders, get her discount, then pay her by check. Her discount paid for shipping and sales tax. i like the foam pads but not SU linen ones. I will not add their new magnetic closure ones to my ink arsenal. I find that most ink colors are found in other companies ink lines.

I have a mixture of ink pads, distress, Altenew and teardrop, I like the teardrop as the are small to hold, I’ve got quite a collection of them.

Lisa, our demo puts our orders all under herself because no one wants to create an account. Of course they don't get any bonuses most times because of that, but they don't mind. She still gives me her discount since I make three of the six cards we do each month.

Kathy, I knew you did that. I think that is a good idea. I probably have a few dollars in bonus points or money, but I rarely use these kinds of things. Most of my points expire in each company that does this. Typically if the points or money pays for shipping, I take advantage of it.

The things I like the most at SU is the embossing folders and designer series paper. I liked the sunflower folder and see it is back in stock, but haven't ordered it. I bought an Altenew one waiting to be used. I am not in a hurry in my current circumstances.

I have an Ikea cart that has many things in it. This is a small one as it fit under the table I worked on upstairs. Other items are sitting on one of the dining room chairs. It is way too full as I walked past it yesterday and several items fell to the floor. I pushed them out of the way with my foot. My older daughter heard the crash and came upstairs and picked them up.

I have been thinking about smaller shelving units like the Ikea Kallex unit to place in my limited space. It could hold this stuff sitting on the chair, then they shouldn't crash to the floor. I saw one at Target that I like and could work. I need to talk with my husband to see if this is a feasible option. He put the Ikea cart together easily without complaining.

Hello everyone! Yay, it is Friday so I get to stay home. Yes, I also clean the house today but that is a fair trade for not having to leave the house. Sunday DD2 leaves for the house/farm/critter sitting job that she is so excited about. She is going to have so much fun.

Kathy, I'm glad the CT scan was so quick - and that she explained what you would experience before it started. That was definitely helpful!

I'm sorry to hear about the changes at SU. They definitely refresh their colors more frequently than I was led to believe. I also don't buy the in colors though they had a set a couple (?) years ago that I couldn't resist, thankfully buying the re-inkers too.

I have products from all sorts of companies but with ink, I have been basically SU inks. I have a few distress oxides and a fair amount of distress inks but otherwise, it is SU ink and card stock. I'm trying to use up my patterned paper preferring to make my own these days. That will really free up storage space too. As SU prices increase, I'm more inclined to shop elsewhere such as Simon Says Stamp and Gina K. I hope SU doesn't price themselves/make changes that cause them to go out of business.

The description of the new ink pads intrigue me though.

Ann, I also need to get caught up on commenting on alphabet cards. I will get there.

Melody, we definitely have different preferences. I've unmounted all my wood mount stamps.
