Mahalo sis Catherine too. Kick that bug to the curb. Who is your net provider? Mine been shitty every since spectrum took over all day everyday it goes in and out
Nice way to start my day. I inhaled the crumbs from my breakfast toast and choked on them, so now I have coughed out crumbs everywhere.
I’ve been working on jewelry. HL had their Swarovski crystals on sale, so I bought several pieces, and this week the sterling silver is on sale, so I bought neck chains and earring wires. I have one set done.

Sigh. Ever filled an online shopping cart with things you want, culled it down to things you REALLY want, and even though you tell yourself you shouldn't, you hit the Paypal button?
Yup. Me. Paper Wishes.
I've been eyeing that Mirri mirror cs for a while(2 kinds), and foiled acetate. A Vera Bradley coloring book (half off). Bunch of $2 Tuesday specials. A paisley die & stamp set (but, wait, Pat- didn't you just get a paisley die & stamp set in your SU order?). A 3D embossing folder (love those deep embossing folders!).
Sigh.
I just spent my May allowance, what with buying things for DH for our anniversary the end of May. Lucky the credit card comes due at the end of the month (and I've paid it in full already this month).
Yes, Pat, yes, yes, yes. I’ve been eyeing the Graphics 45 papers for a while now. That brand isn’t sold around here. Last week, while filling out a small list at Amazon, I viewed the little scroll that says Based on Items You Have Purchased, and there it was! Only $24, YIKES. I broke down and bought it, and received it yesterday. I see oodles and oodles of vintage cards and crafts from that paper kit. But $24? Ouch!
PS I absolutely ADORE Paper Wishes!

wow dead here scs we from the eye doctor office and per opt. surgery Thursday. I need some inaction here. What is everyone doing. I have to much time my hands. But, you ladies don't seem to have that problem LOl
We have it better here than in the UK. Socialized medicine sucks! Tomorrow, my dsil is taking Dad into the fracture clinic. They're already overbooked, they know this. But still, she has to have him there at 8:30AM signed in, even though they know they won't be able to see him until the end of appointments- like 4PM.
Hi everyone! Wow, exciting times in our neighborhood last night - which is partly why I haven't been able to check in until now. DH was about to get ready for bed when I heard a strange sound. We went out front to investigate and heard someone moaning and cursing. DH put shoes on, got a headlamp and walked down our drive to check it out while I stood outside and watched and listened. I saw a pickup drive up, pull a u-turn, and ask someone if they were all right. DH went down there, there was some talking, the pickup left, and DH and someone walked up to our house. A young man had an accident right out front crashing into a PG&E power pole. DH invited him up to the house where he had a LOT of water and used our bathroom. DH called the sheriff's department. After about 15-20 minutes, he wanted to go back down to see if his mom had arrived. He said he hoped he wouldn't lose his job because of this so I asked what he did, he works at a restaurant so I don't know why he would lose his job for an accident. He said he swerved to avoid a deer. He and DH went back down to find his mom and sister had arrived as well as the fire department, an ambulance, and, while I watched, I saw CHP (CA Highway Patrol) drive up. DH came back up and shortly after he was back in the house, our power went out. Poor PG&E worked through the night, it took them about 12 hours to restore power and then it took several hours for our internet to return. Since we had no power, we went to bed where, somehow, DH fell fast asleep while I tossed, turned, and coughed. At 12:15 am, someone was walking around outside our house. (Our house is up the hill from the road so for someone to be out there, they have to intend to be there.) Next thing I hear someone knocking and had to wake DH up to go to the door. We put robes on and went to the door where CHP was waiting to take DH's statement about the accident. He said he had arrested the young man for DUI. DH had asked me if I smelled it on him when he was in the house, I hadn't but DH had. He wasn't tipsy or anything to my eyes but I don't have much experience with people drinking. Oh, and he had just bought the car too. Not a good night for him.
Pat - I'm glad to hear someone say socialized medicine sucks. I have always thought that and our politicians are trying to get the US going that way. When my parents were alive and would head to the desert in Southern California for the winter, they had a lot of Canadian friends who would come down and winter there as well and they would have a lot of medical things handled while in the states so they could get the procedures done and done in a timely manner. I always think of them when I hear people touting the wonderful Canadian system.
I hope Mitch is done with surgery and that things went well.
Kandie - your tins are marvelous and I LOVE to see the pictures you post of them.
The minute you said he drank a lot of water my thought was he was trying to flood alcohol out of his system. If he didn't seem intoxicated it could be the shock of the accident was enough to make him more alert. No wonder he worried about his job. I won't judge him. My son did some really stupid things after his divorce and only Gods protection helped him through that rough time. He quit drinking a little over two months ago, praise the Lord! But as the saying goes....there but for the grace of god go I! I'll bet that was scary for you!
I should have known something was wonky because when we had a close encounter with a deer several years ago on the California coast, it didn't make me want lots of water. He seemed like a nice enough young man, he cursed a bit more in our house and then apologized for it. I pray that it was his first DUI and that it will be a turning point for him.
Actually, I wasn't scared though I was on alert when he was in the bathroom or kitchen by himself. Though I was glad the girls were gone.
Did it cause you to lose your power too? I couldn't believe it took 12 hours to restore power, felt badly for the PG&E guys working through the night to restore it. And, because of my cough, I'm not sleeping deeply so I was awake every hour (or less) so I know it was like daylight in our room during the night because our room faces the street and they had to bring in a bright light to do their work.

Doesn't matter how much you drink water, you can't get the alcohol out of your system. It metabolizes at a certain rate, and nothing you can do or ingest will change that. He was probably alert from the adrenaline.
Woo hoo, the girlies are home, hip, hip, hooray! They were suitably surprised by Honey's extreme haircut and, of course, I filled them in on all the excitement they missed last night.
Update....
First off mahalo all my wonderful alpha sistahs for the prayers and well wish most of all the support!!! I was a wreck this morning so bad. Extra mahalo sis Ann for hanging in with me !! Much love!!
Mitch is home and his tired I’m sure in pain but mr mucho . then again with everything and surgery after surgery just when recovered from one another comes along after this tomorrow he goes in on his normal dailysis like nothing happened today. So I ask to keep him in prayers for you all are my prayer warriors and guardian angels!! Love you all so much. He’s asleep mahalo to the man above and my Sistah around the world.
I was a little surprised that the CHP officer let us know that he had been arrested.
Wow sis thats scared!! But I think you and hubby just have such good hearts and kindness and put others before you think of yourself. Really!!! And I mean REALLY!! So glad the girls wasnt home. Sis please be careful next time. Their are way to many crazies and druggies and drunks out there and all the craziness going on in this world. Wow taking him into the house wow that is some scary chance you all took . Or maybe I just watch to many Criminal Minds and Chicago Police and was a advid fan of CSI Miami and NY. But the daily news of all the horrible things now days. Im thinking if the police came to let you know its one of two things for that or both....one being to maybe check if the party was at your house for him to be there drunk and maybe left there drunk or to give you a idea how close you came to being victims and victimized and alert you both to be more careful... sooo glad your night didnt turn out to be one for the movie and shows I watch because even tho its just shows. It is the real world and very close to reality. Love that the lord watched over you both.
Tell the girls I said welcome home and love them much . I prayer your feeling better.
Sis Kathy wow!! DS is owning the fishes!! That fish could feed you all for a few days . My house maybe 3 day lucky because we love fish!! And it’s on mitch diet allowance lol
Thanks, Vickster. I don't think we were in danger though. The officer told us that he had confessed to drinking and driving but that it was helpful to have a statement of an observer to corroborate things because often they will recant their confession when they sober up.
