Default Hello

Waving hello- a little bit of a hard time with allergies the last couple of days- aka Cottonwood. This too shall pass : )

Annette- Happy Belated Birthday!

Catherine- Congrats to your daughter on graduating! Gap years are good if needed by a person. I graduated a year early from High School and worked and saved $$$
Thanks for the wave from Kandie- she is missed here! By the way- it's Friday everyone : )

Kathy- sorry for your foot pain- I have had that before and it is really painful! I have a neuroma as well, but it does not hurt all of the time. My Doc has me wear Crocs indoors at all times! I have a very high arch.....

Ann- so happy Athena is eating, despite the fact that you have to tempt her with people food! Yes, that bee was outstanding!

Jan and Jean- no thank you to those ants! We have had ants in the house- in the kitchen and on the back porch- but got rid of them thankfully. I had put out traps and sprayed, but that drove them deeper into the house, so called and exterminator- and they disappeared after that. Yeah! Some had wings, so wanted to get right on that!

Gracie- hope you enjoy the new internet and seeing family! Big Hugs for the elders who are suffering!

Shirl- glad that tooth calmed down and yeah for getting to see old friends and your brother.

Jean- so cool that gentleman paid for a portion of your bill- that is so nice! Too funny about the 20/70 and 70/20 I will be in that 70/20 too, but not until 2029!

Ann- good your HA is better/lighter today. LOL, I know about needing to clean and not being able to find things once you put them away! Fun that you like to read and the kids as well. I like to buy books, and try to read them.......

Sharon- glad Larry is getting around OK!

Waving hello to all I missed above : )

Shelly

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
Jan, I would be just as bad as you with the ants. The flying ones really are creepy.

Jean, thank you for the lovely card! It arrived today.

I went to Super Shoes and bought a pair of skechers with arch support. But I really really really don't want to wear shoes! I hate them. But I also can't continue with so much pain I have to use a cane.

Kathy, we both wear sketchers all the time, so light and comfy, I even have sketchers sandals, They wash well too!

jean I am 69 this year too,

now we have filled in every part that doesn’t move in the conservatory so hopefully that’s it, the problem is we can’t get underneath to spray the ground as it’s too low at that end to get in.
im going to put a circle of powder around the fruit trees when the rain has finished as apparently it stops the ants going out of the circle, not sure if it works but it’s worth a try.
we’ve had those tiny black ants before in the kitchen, I emptied all the cupboards and we got some spray from the ferretaria and they disappeared,

Good morning! Yes, it's going to be hot and humid the next few days! We don't have air conditioning...so relying on the breeze from the lake and lots of fans.

I thought with our new internet, I'd be back in the groove commenting and creating, but life sure has been hectic since we got back to Wis.

We spent the day with my mom and DH's dad yesterday. Took his dad for a drive to see the beautiful green trees and fields. His dad loved it and said Thank You several times. He said it's such a beautiful time of year and it was nice to get out. Then, we took him back and visited my mom and took her to a fish fry. It was a good but tiring day.

Also, my poor Lola quit eating so I've been to the Vet twice. They kept her overnight last night. She has a fever and they are giving her fluids. Blood tests are good, but she may have an infection. They are giving her antibiotics and anti-nausea meds.

Jan, I hope you get the ant situation under control! Jean, too. I hate those pesky things!

Annette, so sorry I missed your Birthday! Happy Birthday MONTH! I will get a card made and sent out soon. Hugs

Ann, so glad Athena is interested in food again. Stay cool!

Catherine, I'm glad DD2 can take a year to see how all of the universities handle the distance learning and finally get back to regular classes. Socialization is such a big part of college life and life in general!

Shelly, I hope your allergies settle down soon.

Kathy, I did wear a foot brace for plantar fasciitis at night and that did seem to help. It took about 6 months for it to go away for me. There are some exercises online that help with it too.

Sharon, hoping Larry is continuing to do better.

Anne, glad to hear the headaches are a bit better. I was a reading teacher/specialist...I love to read. It's so great to see the grandkids reading.

Shirl, how's your weather?

Well, I'm waiting for the Vet to call me back about Lola...hope she's better.

Hugs to everyone! Miss you Jayne and Sis.

It's 89 here already. My sister and I went to Walmart. We have to schedule things around how many people are at home to help with dad. DH and DS2 were both home so we went and picked up Mom's shopping list and mine. Dean is a fun New distraction for all of us. He's getting braver around our other cat but every once in a while he gets smacked on the head from him. Yesterday our other cat even started playing with him. My biggest concern is that he is so tiny and when someone walks he likes to chase them and he gets under our feet. He would be squashed if any one of us stepped on him. It's hilarious to watch him run. He sometimes hops like Pepe Le Pew on all four feet! He's faster than lightening!

Hi everyone! It sounds like you are having some warm weather back east. Please keep it out there, OK? It has cooled down out here. It is only 82 right now (12:40 pm). I'm thankful.

DD2 went to the commencement for her former class today, then came home for a quick outfit change because her best friend still there was having lunch in the park so she is back there with friends.

We have decided to have a small family celebration of her graduation on the 19th. That is when she'll get her diploma. I took the opportunity, while she was gone this morning, to make her graduation card. She will have a celebration with her friends next weekend, doing a Sherlock Holmes escape room.

Shelly, she probably wouldn't have done a gap year except for covid. She doesn't want to do college in a virtual situation so she is hoping things will be back to normal after this next school year.

Sorry you are struggling with allergies, I can empathize with that!

Kathy, I don't like to wear shoes at home either, but if it helps with your foot pain, I hope it works.

I'm sure Dean is the cutest to watch, he is so small, I'm sure he can hide far too well too!

Jan, I hope you have won the battle with the ants.

Gracie, so sorry to hear that Lola is having troubles. I hope she is better today. You have been so busy with family. I'm sure your FIL loved his outing. I'm glad you can be there for him and your mom.

I need to bell the kitten! Isn't there a story about that? LOL He is so tiny and fast and I nearly step on him when he's in the living room or kitchen.

Good morning.

Kathy, last week someone posted a couple of pictures on facebook, saying they had spent an hour looking for the tiny kitty. Found inside a tissue box.

good morning!
Hot here, too.
Ann, will the painting ever end? LOL
Kathy , your Kitty sounds so fun. I am glad you seem to have some help with your mom & dad.
Catherine, sounds like your DD will be having some graduation fun. I have done an escape room once several years ago with our DD and family. It was great fun, but they did most of the clue finding! LOL
Gracie, I am glad to hear you are able to help with your FIL.
Jan, I hope you are both feeling better, and that you got rid of the ants!
DH begins PT today, or at least we go in for an evaluation. We went to surgeons office on Friday and they took X-rays and said everything is healing. He speeds around on his walker, but can’t get comfortable enough to sleep very well. His biggest problem right now.
thank you for the nice cards different ones have sent. Melody, I have to look and see if that one card you sent is in the gallery. So funny, and appreciate!

And, where is Kandie? Is she ok? Does anyone know?
Happy Monday!

Good morning!
I have my 3 GDs with me for a few days! Busy with swimming, campfires and crafting of course.

Sharon, I hope your DH gets PT and can sleep more comfortably.

Very hot here all week. Suppose be in the 90's. Thank goodness for lots of fans!

Ann, my goodness...more painting. I make such a mess when I paint. You wouldn't want my help.

Kathy, belling the kitty would be a good idea. I added a bell to Lola's collar because I kept tripping on her. She is much better now but still on antibiotics. I just love trying put a pill down a cat's throat! Not!

Melody, I used to have a cat that loved to try and squish into kleenex boxes. So funny.

Catherine, that Escape Room party sounds like such fun for DD2. She is her own person and I'm sure appreciates that you allow her to be herself!

Better run...girls need some brunch.

It says last activity was June 3rd. But I don't see posts after April 22 so she may just be checking in and not posting. We need to send out the card squad!

Good morning! It is a lovely, cool morning here which I will enjoy while it lasts.

Sharon, I posted a few days ago that Kandie sends her greetings. She has a lot going on right now but wanted me to let everyone know she misses you all.

Kathy, considering Dean's size, I think a bell would be an excellent idea! I'd be worried he'd tuck himself in somewhere and I wouldn't be able to find him! Wesley comes when she is called (Honey doesn't but Wesley does, our pets are confused!). Sometimes she doesn't come quickly enough for DD2, but I'm amazed she even comes!

Ann, we need to get back to painting. It would be nice to be a bit farther along before the 19th.

Sharon, I'm glad your DH is getting on to PT, that is great!

Speaking of DD2's graduation stuff, yes, the escape room is perfect for her, she loves doing them. And a Sherlock Holmes theme?! Perfection, she LOVES Sherlock Holmes. She is a little concerned the room might be too hard for them as it is a 4 on 5 level difficulty scale. But I'm sure they'll have fun. My most exciting news about her graduation celebration is that yesterday my brother who lives in Idaho let me know that he and my SIL will drive down for the family celebration on the 19th. We aren't telling DD2 that they are coming though. I'm just so thankful and excited that they are coming. I REALLY need to get further along with the painting! I need to plan a meal and get ready to host them (though they'll stay with my brother who lives here). Yay!

Today, DD2 is going to celebrate with her closest friend from her class who graduated yesterday. They celebrated yesterday and today it continues.

Thank you, Gracie, for the encouragement about tailoring the celebration to the unique person DD2 is. She is so thankful I read that article about tailoring the celebration to the graduate and was open minded about doing it that way.

I'm glad you are right on the lake with those hot temps! Again, please don't send them out here! I'm sure you are having a great time with your granddaughters!

Kathy, cards would be a great idea!

Hello all,

Kathy, you're welcome for the card.

Ants seek H2O? well how about that? Did not know. They are FAIRLY gone, but every once in a while...I also have had some larger one. Very random. The ants go marching one by one......boo hiss!

Too hot to do much of anything. Dew point is going up. I do have a portable ac unit that sits on the floor for my bedroom but otherwise ceiling fans, which would be running anyway. I like air moving, even if it's warmish. Not happy that I'm using the AC already. Blinds closed to keep out the sun. I remember when we lived on the lake in the summers how hot and still it could be but there was always that lake to jump into.

I love Sherlock too, all mysteries really. I am really into Louise Penny right now. So good. I think I like them because there is always a conclusion and I like trying to puzzle it out myself.

Stay well, stay cool, stay creative.

Default Hello

Happy Monday!
This week- no holiday, so maybe it will be easier to remember what day of the week it is!!!

Jean and Shirl- thanks for the beautiful cards!!!

Catherine- love the idea of personalizing the Grad party for your daughter. And, how fun to surprise her with out of town relatives!

Cathy- so sweet to have a little bell on your kitty. I hope it is bring your son some Joy.

Sharon- glad Larry is moving towards PT and working towards getting back to everyday life!

We had neighbors for dinner Saturday night- lol, one lives to the north of us and a couple to the south.... all I can say is that its long overdue, and it's the first time in a year anyone besides us has been in our home! It was so hot out- we did appetizers inside and dessert, but dinner was out on our patio. It was fun and also delicious! It made me clean and mop the floors in the kitchen...... ugggg! Hubby is going to want company every weekend now- he loves the mopped floors... hehehe'

Ray spend alot of time on the yard, and it is looking beautiful! Because he really loves working in the yard, whatever he says goes! (for the most part) .

We finished watching a series called Mare from Easttown, It was great, but it did give me a few nightmares about my daughters approx 1/2 way through. Kate Winslate is the lead actor, and I have to say- what an excellent series!!!

Off to get something done today

Shelly

Shelly, if hubby likes mopped floors, give him the mop!

Sharon, I did not post a picture of the card. Since I swiped the image from somewhere on line, I figured it was probably copywrited, so didn't post it.

Anne, glad you are feeling better today and smelling the roses. Now, I will bite, what book are you re- reading?

Shelly, we enjoyed watching Mare of Eastown too. We are watching Killing Eve right now with Sandra Oh. Just started season 2 last night. There are only 2 seasons.

I don't feel good for much today, but going to get out to mail my teapotter card. Thankfully it is cooler out there.

Gracie, yep, cats love boxes but a kleenex box is hilarious! I am sure you will be having fun with the grandkids. Happy birthday to your dh. I think I forgot to say that before.

Sharon, it is hard to get good sleep at first. I had to sleep on my back at first and that is a drag.

Catherine, congrats to your graduating daughter. That escape room sounds like fun! Fun that family is coming for the celebration.

Jan, any better?

Hugs to all!

Shirl

We've been using walkie talkies for mom to let us know when she needs help. Tonight my niece and her husband are spending the night so they put dad to bed. Then Mom got on the walkie-talkie and said Dad's in bed, good night John boy!. LOL

Linda, I'm not sure what you want to know. It looks like you can only get one teacup out of a 12x12 sheet of paper. The video is about the teacup, but your link is to a purse die so I don't know what measurements you need.

I don't think that teacup is small enough to go in that purse. The saucer is 4" round so the cup is bigger. The easiest and cheapest way to mail them would be flat. But then you would have to put them all together and to be honest, that teacup looks like a lot of work. There are some cute, easy patterns to make post it note holders and you could stamp teacups on those. There might even be room inside for the post it notes plus a teabag. They could be made and mailed flat and all you'd have to do is pop it up, add the post it note and teabag and close it. Just a thought. I love post it notes! LOL

Hi everyone. Just popping on to say a quick hello.

Sharon I hear from Kandie every week. She’s good and still busy renovating their home. I don’t think she’s got time to pop on at present. Life is very busy for her with her yoga and meditation and other things.

Gracie enjoy time with your family.
Shelly we are watching Mare of Easttown. Enjoying it so far but yes scary. We enjoyed Keeping Faith.

Happy week everyone and hugs

Sharon so pleased to hear DH is doing well, I’m guessing it’s quite painfully trying to sleep so hopefully PT will help, I know when my hip plays up I can’t sleep on that side.

this week I’m feeling so much better, I had my second vaccine yesterday, only half an hour in line, very organised, thankfully, I thought when I went to bed I had escaped any problems, woke at 1 am with aching bones and shivering, took a pain killer and managed to get some sleep, just my arm is aching this morning.

we had a traumatic morning on Saturday, had our walk and breakfast did the shopping and on the way home the tyre pressure light came on, I nipped in the supermarket for some bread rolls and when I came out steve was shouting to hurry up, the tyre was almost flat, we drove across the road to pump up the tyre at the garage, drove across town to the tyre repair place, shut, on a Saturday, drove to another, closed too so we decided to go home to change the tyre, luckily we stopped half way home at the garage as it was almost flat again, managed to get home and steve started to change the tyre and it absolutely poured with rain, I had to stand over with the big umbrella, I was so worried about steve as he was exhausted by the time he’d finished, I think he was so stressed worrying if we’d get home, the spare is just a skinny tyre so before my vaccine yesterday we had to drop the tyre in for repair, of course he didn’t arrive until 9.15am!
anyway after my vaccine we went back and he fitted the tyre for us, charged ten euros so a bargain.

Kathy I hope you foot is getting better!

Just an update ladies, Kandie is having a procedure this Wednesday. I’m sure she would appreciate a pm if you have time.

Congratulations Sharon and glad Larry is going ok.

Gosh Jan that sounded stressful just reading it and I can imagine poor Steve.
I’ve just bitten the bullet and booked in for my jab…later this week. I’ve been putting it off and considering no cases here but time to join the queue LOL.

Play time. Just wanted to update you all.

Linda, Kathy is right. If you look at the size of the purse compared to her hands, the purse is very tiny. And the teacup looks about as large as a real teacup. There is no way you'd be able to mail the teacup without using a box.

Morning!

Well with all the work I have been doing I am now sick! Extremely bad sore throat and very very tired. I think I picked up a bug from opening up the little pool. My gloves got soaked and I had not washed them before using them again.

No rest either, floors are being done today and tomorrow!

Have a good day everyone!

Oh no, Ann. You really need to take it easy. Let the boys handle the flooring people. Go into seclusion and rest and get well!

Jan, what a horrible day with the tire (tyre). Interesting that you spell tire differently. I hope Steve has survived all the stress and worry. Glad you're done with your second vaccination. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Jayne, thanks for the update on Kandie. I'll be thinking of her on Wednesday. I really need to get some cards sent out! I'm so behind on birthdays and stamping. Hopefully, I can get back on track again. I'm taking my GD's home today. I'll need at least a day to recuperate! Swimming, crafting, games, lots of snacks...oh my!

Congratulations on your Misti win Sharon!!! I hope Larry is doing better.

Kathy, I laughed when I read that your communicating with walkie talkies and your mom said, "Goodnight John boy." How cute.

Good morning everyone! Goodness, I overslept this morning so am behind before I even got out of bed! That will teach me to hit snooze (I accidentally hit off instead of snooze which is how I got into trouble!). It is lovely here - DH even has a jacket on while he is working. I think it was down into the 40s overnight...yay!

Wow, lots of chatter, I love it!

Jan, that sounds so stressful with your tire. Glad you made it safely without ruining the tire and what wonderful timing for pouring rain.

Jayne, thanks for letting us know about Kandie's procedure tomorrow.

Sharon, congrats on your Misti win!

Ann, please rest and let the boys deal with the flooring people like Gracie suggested.

Gracie, what a wonderful and fun grandma you are. That is how my mom was though she was too old when I finally had the girls and she felt bad about not being more active with them. Still, she was the best grandma they had (I'm not biased at all!). What great memories you are making with your grandkids, that is wonderful.

I have to brag about DD2. She felt called to apologize to a boy who was in the class behind her. He annoyed her greatly when he came to the school and she wasn't very nice to him. She asked me if it would be strange to apologize to him and I told her it might feel that way but that if she felt called to do that, she should listen. She was going to give him a handwritten note because she apologizes better that way than verbally. Saturday she came to me and asked for help with my card making supplies because a card design had come to her and she decided to write the apology in a card she made. I'm attaching a photo of the card. She gave it to him after commencement, felt awkward doing that, he apparently read it before she left the campus and told her they were good. She told me she feels lighter. I'm just so proud of her for listening and apologizing. Sorry, proud mom moment! Here's the card she made. (She doesn't make cards often and the flower image is one she downloaded, flipped, and printed.)
