I spent Australia day making cards, I hope you like them.

I'm not actually sure who the others are for but the sepia birthday card is for a friend of mine. I hate making men's cards I really struggle with them.

Feb 1 is Wednesday!

Just a reminder, if you haven't done so already, now is the time to look over your February card list. Think about the person/ occasion and start pulling paper!

LOL

AOC12 Jan tropical dreams by lulyg - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I have some late Jan early Feb birthdays, so I got one done this month. I have been so much better about sending cards already this year! Thanks for the encouragement

Hey Alison! I've added you to the list.

No requirements for the challenge. Just tell me which date(s) you'd like to sign up for. I'll try to send out a reminder about a week ahead of time. It can be a Sketch challenge/ color challenge or a technique. Just if you use a technique, link to a tute... just as if you were doing VSN :-)

Kelly, I'll sign up to do a challenge - maybe April or May.

mschoener 01-28-2012 07:31 AM

Posted all my January cards over on the January thread. I really need to make sure that I post more often from now on. There were a bunch I did in January.

yellowrose46 01-30-2012 05:55 AM

Maggie, what a prolific card maker you are! I've left love, but there were so many, that I am late getting to bed after working a 12 hour night shift....shame on you :) I guess it's shame on me for turning on my computer!

Thank you Ina. I left love on a few of yours this morning also. I really need to get them uploaded more often! I made 3 more over the weekend. ;)

We should make that request to the mods. :)

vikkijo 01-30-2012 08:04 AM

well i worked on tweaking my OSW last night, I got 2 so far. i found that is if i lift my right hand onto the table
if lean forward it works,
it's like working with hardening silicone though

Maggie, both of those months are taken but if you want to pick a June date both the 1st and 15th are available. Just let me know.

HOW TO POST A CHALLENGE

Hey everyone... there have been a couple of questions so here goes.

Post the challenges on THIS main thread.

When it is your turn to post a challenge, you may either do it yourself or email it to me.

After you have posted your challenge, I will go back and Edit the Master List with the correct Keyword.

I will then make sure the updated Master List is linked over in the coordinating month's thread.

If you have questions or can not follow through on your challenge, please PM me right away. Life happens. I get it.

Thanks for helping make this a productive list! :-)

June 1 will work. I may be on vacation later that month.

auntangie 01-30-2012 10:50 AM

So this month got away from me. My plan to make a card for the youngest niece and nephew fell through, but I did pull a card for each of tehm from my stash last night and will get them sent after work today.

For February I need two Valentines and one birthday all of which I came home with from the shoebox swap I went to on Saturday. SO I am set for this month!

pixxiewacorgi 01-30-2012 04:09 PM

argh! I just remembered about several February birthdays! Two male, two female. I'll work on those ASAP. Will post here.

Hey, Maggie -- I'm signed up for the May 15th challenge, but I will be around in June if you want to swap dates. I don't mind..

AOCC12C Re-purposing

1 Attachment(s)
I'm posting the inspiration for February 1. I am a pack rat, saving all sorts of items that look like they might be useful on a card. If you are a minimalist, this challenge may be difficult for you. Re-purposing: using an item that was not originally designed to be used on a card. For example, the silver seal on the top of a yogurt container, any type of packaging, old calendar photos, a design on a fancy envelope (as seen in my example). I've even hammered a beer bottle top flat for a card to my son at one time! Look around your house this week, and see what you can find!
My photo shows a card made with a picture that was on the outside of an envelope containing a calendar for TVO (a television station that is funded on donations, and this was an attempt to solicit my donation)

grammatroll 01-31-2012 07:21 AM

Good idea, Ina. I just cleaned out a file drawer with a few things I've been saving to use on cards.

My new avatar is a picture of my granddaughters, 9 and 2. Wish they lived a lot closer than 1200 miles away.

Thanks for a great Inspiration Challenge, Ina. I've added the Post # to the master list and am going to put a reminder over on the Feb1 Challenge thread!

Great card!

yellowrose46 01-31-2012 02:18 PM

Debbie, those girls are adorable! I'm in the same boat as you, my three grandsons live in Austin Texas, and I am in Ontario, Canada, not too far from Toronto. I fly down to see them 3-4 times a year, so I don't know how many miles it actually is. However, this year, after I retire, I hope to drive it once and stay down there longer than the one week, which has been my custom.
Also, this year, I am going to get a Canadian grandson (beginning of May) and for the first 10 months of his life, he will be living about 10 miles away from me. After that, he'll be going back to Ottawa, which is a 5 hour drive.

Plain Jane 01-31-2012 05:36 PM

Ooh, Ina! I love your challenge!!! I'm excited to go hunting!

I am officially deadline-free....I get to stamp for FUN! C'mon, FRIDAY, I can't wait!

grammatroll 01-31-2012 09:59 PM

Ina, I'd hate to have the girls any farther away. We don't get to see each other very often. We're strapped financially because of DH's health issues so can't make trips to see them. My daughter is going to college and working part time so she only gets to come to Montana every other year. But I do talk to them every chance I get.

I failed. The good part is-I don't need any birthday cards for Feb. The bad part-we have to make Valentine's-between the two kids that is 50 Valentine's (I think I need a sick day).

shellebelle 02-02-2012 07:18 PM

I had so many birthdays in January and now I don't need anything for February. I did make a bunch of Valentines cards that I need to upload for this month. I just don't have anyone to send them to!
