All Occasion Card Challenge 2012
 

ALL OCCASION CARD CHALLENGE

How many times have you started your day with, ‘today is______ ‘s birthday. I wish I’d remembered to send a card.’ Or are you scrambling last minute to ‘just get one made’?

With the All Occasion Card Challenge, you can put all that behind you!
Each month… around the 20th, we’ll remind you to look at your card recipient list for the COMING MONTH. That will give you time to begin making your cards. On the first of the CURRENT MONTH we’ll ask if you’ve finished your cards and mailed any that should go postal.

Remember: with postal changes, mail is going to take a bit longer. Mailing within the first week of the month will help insure they have their card in plenty of time to enjoy it.
Obviously, if their occasion is within that first week, you’ll want to mail earlier. I’ll try to remember to post a mailing reminder the final week of the month for those.

CHALLENGES:
There will be a challenge posted twice a month. You may use the challenge, or not, in your card designs. They are just to get the mojo going.

POSTING YOUR CARDS:
Because this is a challenge group, it is encouraged that you post a picture of your card on the designated MONTH thread (using THUMBNAIL only please) or a link to your gallery where everyone can leave you LOVE. If you need help with this, please PM me for assistance.

There will be prizes each month.
I will compile a list from the group each month (between the 1st and last day of the month) of those posting pics/ links for an All Occasion pack.

This means, when you sign up I will PM you for an address. As soon as your name is drawn, your envelope can go in the mail. Your address will NOT be shared with anyone except the 2 moderators and whomever is responsible for sending out the prize pack.

This challenge will be wonderful! I'm going to help Kelly with moderating, commenting and hopefully some challenge ideas. We will be going over some deets this week and will hopefully start the list of participants before Christmas.

I am a Pinterest junkie so I should have some inspiration challenges to share for sure!

Woohoo, thanks! Merry Christmas to you guys too and thanks so much for setting this up. I am loving a scrapbook challenge I am on. Even though I'm a bit behind, I love that the ideas are coming in.

:'( I'm so fed up with Christmas cards I don't think I'll join that challenge just yet. But it is something to keep in mind. I don't want to be stuck all of next December rushing out Christmas cards.

That's why the CCC12 thread is perfect! You figure out how many you want to send out by end of November... divide by 11 and that's the number you make each month. By Dec. 1st your cards are ready to go and you can enjoy the rest of the holidays!

Yay! I found it, I found it!!! I can't wait...I have missed WAY too many birthdays this year...and I am behind on thank-you cards, too.

So...I am in for 4 cards/month for now.

Also, I will sign up for a couple of challenge dates. I can take May 15 and July 1. I may be able to pick up more later, too.

I need this one to keep me on track too. I sent out store brought cards this year (GASP!!!) and vow never to buy another card again!! Are we pledging a certain amount of each type of card each month, or just a total of all cards we need to have for our stash? Hmmmmm......better get a book so I can work out how many and what type of cards I need :)

Number of cards is for your own personal count. Because that will change from month to month. You might only have 4 birthdays this month but 12 in March. If you're not personalizing the cards, just a general AOB (all occasion box) then yeah, determining how many you need per month so you don't fall behind is important.

Maybe we'll make it as a roll call going into the month. When I post the card reminder, it will say...

How many cards do you need for this round?

And we're off!

I've set up the sign-up sheet, so tell your friends. Also, if you've signed up I've sent you the PM asking for your snail mail. When I get it, I'll put a astric by your name so we'll both know I have everything so far. :-)

Would love to join too. I need to have cards ready- one type I always need is sympathy cards =( too. I can take August 15- I should know what I'm doing by then.

I'm in! I probably need 4 cards a month. I may alter that amount later.

Kelly thank you for doing this! My card needs vary so much each month, I'm not signing up for a # per month, but will let the month determine how many I need. This will be good incentive to get my perpetual calendar updated.

Luly, Ina and Angie, I've added you gals to the list. You know how well the Christmas Card Challenge has helped you so we hope this will fall into place as well.

I say this every month and am still behind.

My monthly quota would vary, some months I have two birthdays others a whopping 12! Luckily not all gift birthdays

Me! I have been slacking big time the last few years in sending out cards for birthdays/anniversaries, etc. I am in. Hopefully between this and the Christmas card challenge I will get some crafting done in the new year!

ok, Kelly i am in, will see how i go! i have been lucky this year as i always / usually have a stash of cards in the 'box' of cards at church to sell. i have lost track of how many times i have raided it! LOL!! i will be away part of the year, but i should be around in April so put me down for april 15 challenge, after all i did enjoy thinking up challenges for VSN.

i have this funny feeling i will be busy next year!..but then so will you Kelly, hosting three challenges! thanks so much - your a treasure!

I'm stalking Kelly! LOL

I have a very important b'day list in January. My mother, and her twin brother Jan. 4th.. their Aunt is turning 93 on the 3rd. One of my older sister's is 57 the 15th ( I love teasing her she is old enough to be my mom) a great nephew turns 1 whole year old on the 9thThis is the first year I send a card to my step son.. he's 19 and we just met him this year.
That makes 6 for family.. then my friends......

Do you girls send cards to nephews, nieces, Aunts and Uncles.....?
What about Cousins? Is there like an age where you just quit?

I don't send cards to nephews and nieces.........I just wish them a happy birthday on facebook! :)
