I am doing the exact same thing I have been doing..I read in the forum someone else had this problem also!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!! Susie
try it again now. also, you'll have fewer problems if you downsample your images before uploading. there's an article posted here somewhere with more info...

HELP! I'm trying to upload and this is the message I get. The thing is, I'm not trying to upload Bert's birthday card. (It is my card, that's just wasn't what I was trying to upload.
Hi -
I tried uploading 2 photos late last night. THis morning I got the "your photo has been approved" message from splitcoast stampers but when I went in to view the photo, it says " this photo no longer in the database". THis happened to two photos today and one of them had even gotten a comment so I'm assuming that they were able to be viewed for a short while this morning. Any ideas? I uploaded several yesterday with no problem. Is it because of the site problems??
I believe you're getting the "no longer in our database" message because there was a duplicate that got removed. so your card should show up, but your link is to the duplicate that got is no longer there. if this isn't the case, let us know. for some reason we've gotten multiple reports of this over the last couple days.
Hi Daven-
I uploaded two photos on Friday night. Apparently, they were on the site for a short time before they went down because someone had even commented on one of the cards (but it won't let me view it since the pic is no longer there). These cards say "no longer in our database" and when I go to the database to check them, they are not there nor are in they in my gallery.
I did try to upload one of them again to see if there was just some type of glitch the first time but the duplicate one is not showing up either.
Here is the link for the second time I tried to upload: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
It was up and I was able to view it. I received about 3 comments that I was able to view. I was gone from my computer for a couple of hours and had about 4 more comment notices and when I went in to view it, it now says photo no longer in our database???
So frustrating. Any suggestions why this keeps happening to me?
I've tried uploading a picture the last few days and I keep getting the same message as the others. I thought it was me until I saw these postings. I just tried it again and got the exact same message. It says:
Unable to create image [/home/dvn/splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/uploads/947/P6100451.JPG].
Please contact system administrator.
Just wanted to let you know it's still not uploading.
Thanks,
Robyn

Amber, sorry you're having problems! frustration is not the feeling we want you to have. here's our theory. are you uploading multiple cards to the same gallery category with the same file name? this is one scenario that has in the past resulted in files being deleted. in general, avoid duplicate file names if you can, on everything you upload. let us know if that might be the issue and we can go from there.
HI Daven-
Thanks for the quick reply! I love this site and appreciate your concern for my frustration. I have tried to upload this particular photo twice (it is a groovy lines card). I did upload it with the same file name both times. I will try it again with a different file name. Maybe that is the problem. Let me try it and I'll let you know if it works!
Daven-
Just wanted to let you know that I uploaded my photo again with a different title and that seemed to work! So apparently my title was the problem. I will use different titles for all my photos now.

That's the message I am receiving no matter what card I am trying to upload. I changed the file name and everything as suggested on this thread and it still didn't work. Can you help me?

Hi Daven -
I tried uploading again, the same card but with a different file name and it keeps telling me the above. I don't understand how it cannot be a valid JPEG file as I didn't do anything different from the other cards I've uploaded in the past.
Please help me out again!
Thanks - Kay K aka "Speedystamper"
I decided not to bother with the one I was having trouble with after the third or fourth try, it didn't matter WHAT I changed the title to, it's not worth the trouble!
More of my cards that people had access to and were posting comments on have now disappeared the database again! Really doesn't make me want to spend my time posting cards!
hmm, it doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't a valid jpeg file, what I think the error actually means is that it wasn't able to place the file where it belongs, and so subsequently it wasn't found when the program went looking for it. if you wouldn't mind, please try it again and let me know.

see my posts from Sunday on page 1 of this topic for a potential solution to your problem. many, many cards are uploaded successfully every day by our members. this kind of stuff can be frustrating, but if you can stick with it I'm sure we can find a solution
Hi Daven -
I managed to get three pictures uploaded with no problem. Then I tried uploading the one that gave me the problem and it is still giving me a problem, so I think what I will do is delete it from my files and then rescan it, rename it and see what happens. I've also learned that once I am "warned", I can't upload anything else until you do something to fix it so I'll find something else to do for awhile . . . like laundry?? Oh, save me!!
Kay K aka "Speedystamper"
LAUNDRY?!!! that's terrible. I'm immediately going to PM you my phone and pager numbers in case this ever happens again
and yes, you're right about the warning. what happens is that if one of the uploads fails it continues to fail (don't know why yet) and blocks any other uploads from being processed.
you should be all set now, keep me up on what happens.
Daven -
It worked!! Finally! Thanks for all your help this afternoon, and now that one load of laundry is done, I can stamp for a while!!! LOL!!

Daven -
It's me again! I got "the warning". Without further ado, I will go back into my files, delete, rescan, rename and I'm wondering - when I have numbers at the beginning of a file, it doesn't seem to be a problem, but if the numbers are in the middle or at the end of a file, I seem to have a problem. Do you think this might be what I'm doing wrong? The last file that I tried to upload was called 1029_Ornamental_Birthday_1. Yesterday's problem file had a number in the middle and I was booted out. I'm seeing a trend here!
Kay K aka "Speedystamper!"
hmm speedy, I won't try to say your theory is invalid because I haven't tried it, but I'd be surprised if that was the case. thanks for your patience through this. I've "fixed" you and uploads should be functioning again.
Hi Daven -
I'm back again, for another "afternoon fix!" This is starting to get to be a thing here between you and me!!! LOL! And, your right. My theory doesn't hold water as this time I was booted out and there were no numbers imbedded in the middle or the end of that file name. I'll check in later, meanwhile, I will delete, rescan and rename!
Your afternoon addict -
Kay K aka "Speedystamper!"
you might try *not* beginning the file name with a number. the gallery software renames each file already using a numeric identifier for each member (you might have seen the number 652 in your error messages, that's you) and so I wonder if your numeric file names might be conflicting with that process. something to try anyway...
I'm trying to upload some pix of tiles I've stamped - I get all the way through to the point of processing the upload, it says it's uploading, then it "blips" and brings me to the login screen. Am I doing something wrong?
I was trying to load to the "anything but a card - tile" category and it wouldn't go. I finally loaded to member gallery and it went, then I got an email stating it had been moved to the "anything but a card - tile" category... not sure if I was doing something wrong, or posting into the wrong category or what
at least it loaded now!
Stacey (tootse66 - and waaaayyyy a newbie at this uploading stuff!)
Man - I've got to be doing something wrong! I got the one to work, then tried some others and it kept kicking me out. Shame on me - I just kept trying and trying until I got it to work. Now when I go into my member album it shows multiples of my stuff I was uploading - almost like some of the uploads sort of worked, even though the screen blipped and kicked me out and made me log in again?!?
I'm sorry if I'm creating a mess with my multiple images now! I just wanted to share my creations (ok - I'm waaaayyy tooo excited about stamping tiles! but they're so cool and easy!)

that's Jenn, she's on top o' things.
not sure why you're having problems though, bad luck maybe?

OK Daven -
This is a new one. What does it mean? I'm still "connected" so I don't get why it says I lost connection.

Daven -
Friday afternoon and I need another "fix". I have a long learning curve! I'm sorry! I forgot to take the numbers off the front end. But what is so strange is that, it accepts those numbers on 2/3 of my cards. The other thing that is so strange, is that it seems like the third file is always the culprit - you know, how you can upload in three. It seems like the third one is the file that messes me up.
Thanks again for bailing me out.

Hi Daven-
Just wanted to let you know that I am still having problems when I upload photos. Originally, I thought it was because I was using the same title on them all so I started changing my titles. Last night I uploaded 4 photos - they were still up this morning and some had comments and by this afternoon they have disappeared. ANy idea why this happens? ANd it doesn't happen to all of them just some of them. I haven't figured out any rhyme or reason yet. I have reloaded them now so I hope they stay up. Just wondering if there is something I can do to keep this from happening.
It is frustrating when they are up and have comments and then they suddenly disappear.
Hey, Shoecollector, and everybody else with disappearing cards problems!
I just approved Shoecollectors card titled HELLO. I checked the gallery and it was there. So I went back to the admin area, scanned for duplicates, and POOF! it was gone again.
Check this out:
Processing may take a while... please be patient and wait the for FINISHED message...
This means the FILE name, not the TITLE of the pic is a duplicate of another card in the gallery. Might be yours, might belong to someone else. So if you have a card that is the same size, and same FILE NAME as another, chances are this is why it is getting deleted.
Many times we get SEVERAL of the same card in the same upload batch. To prevent the same card from appearing 2, 3, 4, or even 6 times in the gallery, we scan for duplicates.
So this is what I suggest. Give your file a distinct name after you scan it. Like jbalcer_petalprints1.jpg
Let's see if that works. Right now, we are still figuring out all the new gallery features. Thanks for your continued patience.
