It was real novel when we got some here in Phoenix a week or so ago! Lasted all of about 10 minutes!!
It's always a "novelty" here when it comes in large amounts...it's supposed to start tomorrow with 3 inches and then another 4-6 inches on Wednesday. When it's all done, now that's when it's a novelty. Otherwise, not so much ;) I do need to get out and take some pretty picts when it's all white and sparkly...

We rarely get snow more than a few flurries or very light dusting. This is the 2nd time in less than a month. It wasn't the good packing kind to build a snowman with though. maybe it will be better tomorrow.
we're buried in snow. It's probably up to the top of my thigh. Brian plowed us out yesterday morning, then when he was finished, he started right back at the beginning again. I went to town today and my car got stuck right in the middle of the road. But the highways are open and the reports are that they are clear -- so we leave at 6 am and will arrive in Vegas in 3 days. Spend a couple of days there, and then onto Phoenix to attend Barrett Jackson car auction. We're hoping for warmer weather, and at least NO SNOW!

I guess that's what I need to get me staying home to scrap...snow! I started in my scraproom but then family drama pulled me out and never got back in there...girls are back to school this week but I still need to make all our returns/exchanges from Christmas. I have to get ready for my Faith Formation class today for tomorrow but other than that I skipped all my volunteering this week so I'm hoping to at least start a page later today. I feel like I'm never going to get a good scrap day in again! :-( Enjoy the snow, even if it's just keeping you inside to scrap!
Hi everyone! I have been looking at your layouts and commenting. But.... guess I should be doing some scrapping myself!!! Maybe this pm. Snowy and cold here too. 7 degrees out at noon. So, no excuses!
Ordered some new photos from the past couple of months to scrap and I can't wait for them to get here. DD has been sick and hubby threw out his back, so I have been busy holding down the fort. BUT I hope to get into my scrap room soon and get those 10 pages done!! Only have 1 page left of my December Daily album to finish.... the last page is always the hardest b/c I always procrastinate. ;)

Hey everyone - I don't pay enough attention to the news, but I did catch the bit about the flooding in Australia. Has Jacqui (Beksmum) checked in with anyone? I don't know the continent well enough to understand one side from the other, but am hoping that she and her family are fine. Praying for relief for everyone there!

Yes, Wendy! my uncle who lives there called to tell me it was snowing while I was attempting to drive home on ice-packed roads in Utah. Needless to say, I had no sympathy...

Anyone around???? Anyone heard from Jacqui yet???
I spent the morning at work, then I spent the afternoon scrapping and watching icey stuff fall from my trees in the back yard. I fixed dinner, shined my sink and then snuggled in to watched BL & Parenthood. Now I am going to head to bed... See everyone tomorrow!

I thought of her today as well as I was watching the evening news. It was the first time I'd seen footage of how bad the flooding was!
It's hard to believe you are getting snow Anavon! I just can't imagine. Schools in our area have already posted a 2 hour delay for the morning and DH has decided if they cancel, he'll take the day off and take DGS to the PA Farm Show. It's not supposed to be more than 6" in our area...I remember as a kid tons of snow and the buses always got thru! That's when they put chains on them for traction. No one does that anymore though.
They delayed school last week for 2 hrs with about an inch of snow on the ground so it's no surprise today...we've got about 2-3" outside now. It's so peaceful and quiet!
I like your pages! Love the use of the eyelets/brads and the bunny image is cute!
Hi Anavon, sorry I missed you! I watched the BL while scrapping and actually finished up some pages tonight - YAY! :o I can't wait to have some time this weekend to peruse the gallery with all this awesome pages being added this month. I sure hope everyone is remembering our key word: sbc11jan.
Well, we're snowed and iced in again today. We got 6-7" of snow plus about 1/4" ice on top of that between Sunday night and yesterday, plus a little more freezing drizzle today. We usually only see a couple of inches total in any one winter, and here we've already had two snows in approx 2 weeks (one on Christmas Day and now this one) with a total overall of about 10-11". This is soooo untypical for us and we're not equipped to handle this kind of stuff! :o
Anyway, I did get some scrapping done and here's another page for me:
I would have enjoyed my snow days a little more and got some more scrapping done, except I've been so worried about my DH and DS. What makes the male gender feel it necessary to go traipsing around in adverse conditions trying their best to defy the elements of nature and risk injury or worse? Just so they could say they did? Women are more than happy to say, "Oh, a free day!" and hibernate in their craft rooms or cuddle up next to the fire with a good book or movie! I mean, sure, we'll go sled down the hill a little with the kiddies, but who are we kidding? Book...movie....crafting time...we're good! Anyway, I've done more pacing and worrying than scrapping!

I can't see the page yet (it's pending approval) but I just posted a page with the same title of Dear Santa, how funny is that! Great minds think alike?

I just saw that on the news this evening, how horrible! I don't know Jacqui (I'm new around here) but I sure how they are okay!

I hope your 'menfolk' got home safe and sound! I have to say, this made me giggle because it's sooooo true!

Morning all. I 'm up catching up on thread and gallery. Plan to scrapbook today.
We were gone for a few days. We went to the Governor's inauguration weekend in Springfield Illinois. We had a blast, took lots of pics, and met lots of people.

Thanks, and yes, they make it back each time safely, so far. It's just they KEEP going back out there! Whyyyyyy???
Even though my husband is originally from Long Island and grew up with this kind of weather, he's been living down here in the South for way more years than he did up there (and the majority of that time in Florida, no less). So, he's been Southern-ized. We are sooo not accustomed to this kind of weather, and I don't see how people who live up north can handle a whole winter of this mess! I have a huge respect for y'all, you have no idea! But then, it might help matters a whole lot if your whole state owns more than 8 snow plows and it doesn't take a week to get one road by your house plowed, salted, or graveled at least once!

I may have posted a rather ambitious figure for January. I was hoping to work up most of the pages for my Christmas daily album, as well as the usual chronicles of family life. With the month slipping away, I'm not too sure I'll make my goal - hope more of you are doing better!

Okay, this is it...I'm dedicating THURSDAY & FRIDAY TO SCRAPPING!!!! I've caught up on the basics with still many things to do today...EVERYTHING ELSE CAN ~ WAIT (was gonna be explicit but thought better of it ;-)).
If you're scrapping Thursday or Friday, pop me a PM if you want to chat

I am tryinbg to get a page finished for last Thur challenge. If I quit getting side tracked I would have it finished in no time. Then I want to take the time to catch up on all the pages being posted. Everyone is in the scraping mode, at least many are. By the end of 2010 is got quiet around here, it is good to see so many new faces either returning from past years or joining for 2011.

I am so excited! I completed my first page of the year! Hoorah! I hope I loaded it right! I am used to loading cards not pages! I just used the keyword from this forum.
I loaded it in an album in my gallery. Didn't know how to get it in the 12x12 gallery though, since I did that. Tell me what other keywords I could have used.
Here is my first page scrapped in 2011!
Thanks for looking! Just 4 more pages in Jan!

Congrats on doing and loading your first page of the year! It turned out cute! I think you did all you could do for adding keywords since you put your page in an album (I find that the drawback to putting my pages in albums, so I usually don't do that personally.) It will show up if someone searches for 12x12 since you put that in your keywords. Most of us on this thread search for SBC11Jan, so we'll find your pages OK!

Don't feel bad Joyce Ann. At least you have 2 pages done...I haven't started yet! Was gonna do cards and haven't started those yet either! I'm finding it difficult to get accustomed to a computer without a mouse. I'm going to have to go buy one for my laptop...the pad where I touch just doesn't seem to be very finger friendly I spend a lot of time being frustrated
Well no snow here and I haven't ever had any on the ground in the 5 yrs I've lived here, but once a year or so we see it on the mt. nearby. I got some more digital pages done!!

Still holding to my goals so far this month. This will be great if I can continue this (at this pace) through 2011. I'm also already half done the baby invites that I have to mail out first of February.
I'm really hoping I can do a few extra layouts this month, I have so much to catch up on. About 30 years worth.

My challenge for the 52 week Thursday challenge is do something new. There is always so much new info in the scrapbook world. A challenge that introduces us to something new each week is a great way to keep it new and fresh. New trends, colors, techniques, products, ideas- 52 weeks of learning something new.
Week 2
Now that our New year is in full swing, holiday season has past, we can relax and spend more time being creative.
This week's challenge is to create a layout that includes flowers. I know your saying that's not something new? Well here's the thing I see so many layouts that are so beautiful because they are loaded up with... yep you guessed it flowers. I tend to pull back from using too many flowers (cough/ hoarder) but today, I challenge you to use as many as you can on your layout. I stacked them, and added pebbles and bling. I found it easier to just grab a bunch of colors and go to town. I used 16+ on my layout... woot! I'm excited to just let go and be creative. let's see how many you can add. I hope you will join in and add your flowers generously. Remember to upload to sbc11Jan gallery, and share your pages!

Reason: add pics
Here is my page from the 52 week challange from last week. My words for the year are "Use It Or Lose It" I will be using as many of my old supplies this year as I can make fit the page. Some of those things are 10 years old (not oly by some scraping standards) and I have been wondering why I bought them. Well, if I don't use them this year they are going OUT!

Hey Terry, a mouse works great for many people with a laptop. I started off with the finger pad and have become use to it. The sensitivity of the finger pad can be changed, I don't know how (have not tried to find out) but my PC geek changed mine the last time I took it in. I was very frustrated with it before, now it just speeds across the screen. A mouse works better for some though.
