Oh and ladies, don't get excited, it is not often I get to crank out that many pages in a weekend! Whew! It felt good though...
Do any of you ever go on Scrapbooking retreats? I am going to one in February...there is a little cottage in WV in which 9 people can attend (price depends on # of people) and they have it completely outfitted for scrapbooking! There are 2 Cricuts there and some cartridges, tables and cropping space set up for everyone...beds for everyone, a kitchen, a movie room...just a weekend full of fun, I cannot wait!!

I agree with Wendy - that sounds like a dream vacation! *maybe oneday*

It is a dream vacation...I usually go on one in the fall and on in the spring with a Creative Memories consultant...she has them in a hotel and we use their conference room...all of the meals are catered too...this one is a little different but I think I will like it even more, my best friend is going with me and we are just going to veg out and have a blast and oh yeah, scrapbook ;)
Liz - I am ignorant of the time difference thing...are you ahead of us? I am on the east coast so it is early afternoon for me right now.

I actually organize two retreat a year. We do one in the spring and one in the fall. Ours is at a girls camp in Mentone,AL. We usually have 35-40 ladies and there are usually about 8 or so Cricuts buzzing. My next one is coming up in March - the weekend before my birthday! They are so much fun!
Hey digi gals -- Divine Digital starts their new freebie download-a-day (dad) for February tomorrow -- looks like it's gonna be a lovely Valentine's kit. They always give away TONS of goodies in their "dads."
I am not going to make my goal this month. 2 rounds of the stomach bug made its way through our house this month and I just couldn't get to them. Hoping for a more productive month this month.
Oh, Nat, so sorry you all have been sick! Hopefully February will be a better month!
Ok, ladies, I finished another page this morning but I can't upload it yet. It is for my DT post on Monday. I'm excited about it though because of how I did it so I just have to share! I used some digi paper from my DT challenge sponsor for February and a digi stamp from them. I colored the stamp in Photoshop and imported it into my CM software. I am so excited that I figured this out. I also used a font for my title that I downloaded from a font website but it was designed to show the bg paper through part of it (it was snow on top of the letters). I didn't want the bg color to show so I colored that part in Photoshop and saved it as an embellishment. It all took way longer than I would have liked but, hey, I'm learning!

I am 5 hours ahead of VA time.

As I was loading pics of my other two Halloween pages the other day, i realized that I had these two paper pages done, but had never photographed or posted them. So, here they are: Halloween 2010

Waiting for DD to fall asleep so I can finish the last LO of the month (my scrap room is right next to hers). I have a feeling that she is going to take awhile and I am coming down with a cold, so I am grumpy and tired. I may have to push it over to the next month and finish it tomorrow - SO CLOSE!! :'(

I'm right there with you Liz - technically I have my 8th (final) page done, but it's companion page needs a title so the dps itself isn't done. I need to take my son to Scouts and then help him practice his Speech for a Speech meet tonight, so I'll be too pooped to get any scrapping done.....
We are a few miles north of that blizzard line that they are forecasting for the midwest so if I"m lucky the line will move north and the kids and I can have a snow day....perhaps that will jump start February for me!
I hope your cold moves out quickly (I take mega doses of Vitamin C when one starts up and it really helps - think Emergen-C. Last time, my supply ran out though and the cold took over grr!)

Wendy, I downloaded the other one you directed us to-the cowboy one.
I tried to get to it thru my Digi kits. It doesn't come up. I know where it is, but can't "merge" it with my program so I can use it. I am really electronically challenged! Most things that I know, (electronically) I have learned on here! LOL
Also, how do you print out a 12x12 digi page? Special printer? Or you don't print them out?

Sharon, what program do you use? Maybe someone on here can help you.
I upload my pages to Scrapbooks Please and have them printed. I've been pleased with the ones I've had done before. I haven't had any done in a while but I have about 5 to have printed now so will probably do that soon.

Did you unzip the folder that you downloaded? What program do you use?
As for printing pages, I haven't sent any out to print yet, but plan to either do that, or create a photo book through Shutterfly or Snapfish or such.
What I often do, though, is print my pages out on my standard Canon printer as 8x8 pages (works fine as long as your photos aren't too small--then you lose the impact). I either put them in an 8x8 album, or I add them to 12x12 paper and then embellish the page, creating a hybrid page.
Here are examples of a couple of hybrid pages I made using a 12x12 page that I printed out as 8x8, then added to 12x12 papers and embellished:

Really love that option Wendy....I got a Canon last Spring and I am so happy with the picture quality that this would be another good way to get pics done quickly. I go through ink quickly though.... do you have a source for ink cartridges that you are happy with too?
I did a photo book at Shutterfly using one of their templates for our vacation album. I would definitely use them again... need to find away around their high shipping though....

I always wait for them to do free shipping, they do it every couple of months...are you signed up to get their promotional emails? I just got 450 pics printed at .09 a print with free shipping...saved me like $20 in shipping! Usually it is like if you spend $20 you get free shipping...

I don't get any great deals on ink. After buying a new printer, a friend gave me some "refills" that he had bought for his printer (same as mine.) The ink clogged my printer and totally messed up my colors, etc., so I'm back to buying them at Costco. Yes, they're not cheap, but I love the option of printing out the sizes I want for my pages. When I know I just need my pics to be standard 4x6 (or 4x5.33) I use Snapfish or Shutterfly using the discounts on prints and shipping.

I'll have to check into that. I have an account and actually have about $37 to spend in gift certs right now. I should start thinking about how I want to spend it.

Oh my goodness! Those pages are great! That Mankuto Island one is fantastic!
Okay, girls, thank you for all the info! Wow! Well, I have a program I downloaded for free.. It is from DaisyTrail and called Serif Digital Scrapbook artist. I have played with it a little when I first got it. Now I can't figure it out. I am glad to know I could print off the 8x8 and make a 12x12 page.
I think I could do that. But I sure would like to figure out how to get the cowboy download usable. I would like to use that on cards! I will look at it and see if I can "unzip" it.....
Thanks again. You all are great! I wish I had one of you here at the computer with me, though!

I just found a cool February Freebie Blogtrain! A blogtrain is when a group of designers get together and each make up a collection of freebies that coordinate with a theme and colors. You jump from one blog to the next collecting any or all of their downloads.
Hi Ladies. Doesn't look like I'm gonna meet my goal for January. I'm one page away and I had a root canal done on Thursday and it hasn't gone well. I've got 2 rather large abcesses on that tooth and the antibiotics nor the root canal are helping. I'm going in first thing in the morning and they are going to cut into my gum and removed the infected tissue as a last resort. I have not been to work since last Wednesday and this is getting old really fast.:( Please say a prayer for me if you get the chance.
Hoping to be back up and running for February scrappin'.
Hope you are once again leaping tall buildings and all that stuff!!!

That's so sweet of you! I'm not quite doing all that stuff but, I am supposed to get my permanent crown put on tomorrow if we don't get snowed in here in NC.
