My BF and I are traveling in a few weeks to go to the IKEA near SLC. I'd also like to visit some great scrapbook/craft stores. Besides the standard Michaels and Joanns, what do you suggest as a must see?
Very close to Ikea is a Hobby Lobby. If you haven't been to one of those, you should check it out. There is also a chain in SLC called Roberts, which is like a Michael's but WAY better for papercrafters. They have a huge selection. And if you ask them at the check out, they will give you 40% of your largest item.
My favorite LSS is actually in the same parking lot as Roberts and is called "Paper Creations." If you google it, they have a (very out of date) website where you can get their hours, etc.

Just some information for ya . . . Memory Preserve closed last year. Pebbles I very seldom bother with anymore because they carry almost nothing except the Pebbles line. Also, All My Memories in Draper is closing -- they started their going out of business sale on March 1st.
It's getting kind of sad here in the valley . . . we've lost so many great stores and I'm sure we're not done yet. :(
That stinks. Up in Logan I worked in one of the first shops. In about 5 years time there were 4 stores. + Michaels and a couple of small shops. Now I think there is One left. what is happening to our sources!?!

Apparently when they moved from Lehi to Riverton they changed the way they do things. They've always done a lot of online business. Now their website says to call for an appointment for in-store shopping. :(

NOOOOO! Say it ain't so!!! I thought All My Memories was one of the better stores in the area. :(
Oh well... at least I know not to waste my time going out there my next trip to the SLC area.
I agree with the previous suggestions of going to Paper Creations and Roberts.
