Smile brayer how to

I have a brayer I bought from SU and a spectrum pad both are new my question is how to use it?I read on the forums how to do this and saw the pics on how to bray,my problem is that for some reason I have spaces in between the colors,I push the colors together as close as I can and it still have space between them on paper and I dont want to run colors to close that it muddys up.Please someone help me,I love the look the brayer gives when it has 3 or 4 colors close together.Thank you all very much.I feel so dum because It looks so easy.

It's not dumb but unfortunately with spectrum pads if you want seemless colors you are going to have to accept a little bit of overlap. Just make sure that you brayer in such a way that you don't put the dark colors in the lighter colors. Go the other way and overlap just a tiny bit. Another suggestion is to make sure you have glossy paper. It really makes the colors pop.

I don't push the pads together when I ink the brayer. I move the brayer side to side a little while rolling across the whole pad. Then when I roll the brayer over the paper, I always roll in the same direction. I can move the brayer to one side or the other to help in the blending. The more times you roll over the paper, the better your color will blend (so that you don't get stripes of color).
