WOOHOO! Sailing through our 2009 Scrappin' Goal Challenge! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in January, February, March , April, May & June! I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together this month!
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages last month! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
With that in mind, I thought I would invite all of you to July Scrapbook Challenge! Oh what fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends.
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for July. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for July if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Money spent on Adhesive and Printing Pictures is not included in the monthly scrapping budget. We'll count pages 7x7 & up = 1 page for 1 page completed, 6x6 & smaller = 2 pages for 1 page completed.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Woohoo for July!! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
**To make it easier for everyone to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages, please upload your pages to SBC09JUL. **

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

Sign me up for another 12 pages for July. No trips are planned and I just got my Disney pics in the mail today, so there will be plenty to scrap. Who knows? Maybe I'll have time to catch up on all the pages I missed out on the other months.

Hey friends, I'll shoot for 4 pages with less than $10 however this $10 cant be spent on paper but for embellies only...I'm hoping to Scrap the 2 wedding couples and I don't have any embellies for wedding stuff and I don't even have a cricut cart for wedding stuff so I hope to not spend over $10.

I'm not doing so well with my pages... making some cute cards. So put me at 5 for July--now that our homeschool is done, maybe I can sneak some time during the day to scrap. July's budget is $0!
I was at a crop tonight and got about 5 pages sort of done...I have to journal and embellish so they are a long ways from complete. My July goal will be to complete those and post them. Hubby is buying me a new camera since we can't find the charging cord for my old one...it was a "casualty of relocation"

I'm going to set my July goal for 8 again. (which will consist of 6 new and 2 extra to meet my unmet June goal :(....) I'm going to set a budget of $50. Need to replenish some things in my stash.

I haven't set a scrapping goal since early 2008 so I think it's time to start again! I am going to set a goal of 7 pages and a budget of zero dollars. While I haven't really been scrapping I have still been spending! I really need to use what I have!

Anyone know if Valerie (fresshe) is OK?--no digi challenge was posted yesterday. :( Hope everything's alright.

Even though I didn't reach my goal last month, I've got a lot of chances to scrap this month...soooo, put me down for 22 pages.
I want to try & reach 115 completed pages for the year by the end of this month. *crossing fingers* :-D
I uploaded 18, with 2 left to upload, in june that makes 20, 5 shy of my goal. I will lower my goal for July to 10, I've got visiting GK's and am going on vacation too. Happy July everybody.

We're only 12 hours into july and i just finished my first two pages! i won't brag too loudly since it was just a repeat of the halloween page i posted earlier this week! it is amazing how quickly you can put together a page you have already done once :-D
2 down 18 to go ;)
have a great day guys! i hope to be back later with two more pages! off to watch tennis for awhile--GO ROGER!
I am in for another month-actually will be going a bit over the 1 a day-but will still keep the goal at 31. So when I get ahead it feels good! I am going to try out a photo book place that is just adding photo books to their line up-I offered to have about 30 pages done in 10 days-hmmm can I do it for a great deal?

I am in again, even though I way missed my goal... bad(?) thing about it, I am not bothered by not meeting my goal from last month.
I would have never made as many as I have already this year, then several of the past years if it weren't for friends and inspiration like everyone here
Count me in again for 10 still. I need to do 10 each month to reach my yearly goal. I only did 9 in June, but had done extra early so I'm right on track for the year at 60 LO's!

Well I met June's goal +1 last weekend. I'm so excited on how many pages I'm getting done this year! I'm absolutely amazed with you all that have hundreds of pages completed!!!!
I have blown my budget - with new SU catty and all....so will try to limit my spending to $50 this month.
I never made my May goal and did not set one for June but I think I can try to do 2 pages for July. I've got an idea for a dps but just have to find the time to work on it. Plus I am going to take the Jessica Sprague course that starts on Monday so maybe I'll be able to make some pages from that also...
Well, I'm sad. :( Valerie (fresshe) just announced that this is the last week she'll be hostessing the digi-challenge here on SCS. boo hoo :( She suggested someone else might want to take it over. I wouldn't mind being on a hostess rotation with 3 or 4 of the other digi-scrappers--are any of you digi gals interested in trying to work out a schedule?
Please PM me with your thoughts.
Boy, will we ever miss you as our hostess, Valerie!!

I'm posting this a little early b/c of unexpected plans for tomorrow.
Independence Day for our Canada friends was today (I think) and for America it is Saturday. This got me to thinking about independece and freedom and what all they make me think about. Since this is about a quote (or two) and how it inspires you, I went on-line and looked up several. Here are the ones I choose:
HENRY DAVID THOREAU:
Gardening is civil and social, but it wants the vigor and freedom of the forest and the outlaw.
HODDING CARTER:
There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One is roots; the other, wings.
There are so many ideas I came up with about this topic, but one is my children. That said, I chose the second quote.
As an added challenge, try to get the colors of your country in the layout as well
Rats. Where did June go?? I only got 2 of 8 pages done for June.
I'm going to shoot for 8 this month too....
I have plenty of photos printed and many, many more to print. I guess we're just too busy making memories to bother scrapping them, haha!
So here's to another 8...!!!

SU! has been spending a lot of time lately talking and teaching us about drawing Inspiration from the world around us... In fact in the May 2009 "Stamping Success" they have a whole article with many great examples of Scrapbook pages being designed around ordinary products that we use on a daily bases, like granola bar boxes and hand cream jars.
I have really enjoyed Jenn's Inspirational Color challenges that she has been posting on Monday's and I have been looking at the world around me a little differently, both as I stamp my cards and also as I put my LO's together...
So I want to share with you what I have been working on this week. Last week our "Going Green" Recycle Challenge was to create a card using as many "Green" DPS as possible and I really liked the look of a White Cheddar Cracker Box that I had just bought. Then Jenn posted the color "GREEN" challenge this week and I knew that my card would make a great Inspirational piece for a LO...
So here is the card I came up with.... Summer Greens
