What a FUN weekend we've had with VSBN! (Found HERE). During the challenges we had about 2 hours to finish each page/pages. What is the normal "start to finish" time for page layouts?

My time frame all depends on the pictures I have and my mood! The challenges for this weekend all sounded so good and I did not do a single one. I went into my scrap room (freshly cleaned) and could not come up with a single idea for any of them maybe this week I can get a few of them done!

I think only for VSBN type challenges do I stick to the 2 hour limit. Some of the digi pages (like the quick pages) are a lot faster and then the ones for Sally's sketches take longer since I make the layout as a template first (that way I can use it again later on) and then do the actual page. Most of the time spent is looking thru the computer files/folders finding that perfect element!
I do mostly digi pages now. For the VSBN challenges, after reading them and getting my page idea, I take a few minutes and find what files contain the supplies I want to use, then away I go. But other times when I'm just playing around it takes a longggggggg time, playing as you know is FUN!!

I'm with most the others, unless I really have it all figured out or a great sketch to work from it takes me a while. With digi I am a little faster, but that could be because I am restricting myself (currently) to only the things that came with the program, it's overwhelming as it is with all the elements and remembering what I have available.
And cards, hmm, yea those take a while too, but once I get cranking I usually can get it done fairly quick.
The 2 hour limit does help though and I still seem to produce something that I would consider pretty darn good!

I am definitely a quick scrapper, but I'm also a pretty SIMPLE scrapper!
Which has beeen a very good thing when doing an exchange student's book, or when I did my brother's whole lives up to the point of their mission- in the month before they left!

I'm not usually a quick scrapper, which to me is under two hours, but I can be depending on the page and how fast my ideas are coming, and how much stuff I do to it... anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours is my range!
Well, since this weekend's VSBN is the first time I've actually *finished* pages for myself, I'd have to say the 2 hour limit works well for me! (kinda hoping there will be another VSBN say... every month? )
When it comes to cards though, it really depends on if I have good card mojo that day. Some days it seems like I can crank out 10 in one sitting, other days it seems like I work all day on one and still am not satisfied with it!
I think the reason the challenges work so well for me is that I'm given inspiration and a deadline. The deadline in particular helps because I have a tendancy to over-think things instead of just *doing* them! With a two hour deadline it's like someone whispering in my ear, "just pick something already and scrap it!!" Seems like it's exactly what I need!

This seems to work for me too! Get it done!
Most days it does take me close to 2 hours but generally I do 2 pg layouts. Yesterday I did crank out a couple pages in under an hour and wow! was I surprised. Idea hit and picts worked. Just depends

If I'm not doing a time-limit challenge I can take 2 days!
I love to do challenges, though, because some of the decisions are already made for me and that is good.
Otherwise I may temporarily put papers and photos in a possible arrangement and leave it to ripen over night. This is something I do a lot with non-digital pages.

I'm usually a slower scrapper. Once in a while an idea just falls together, but even with digi, it takes a while because, like Terry, I'm looking for those "perfect" embellies and papers, and I have a ton of digi files--not as well organized as I'd like. But it's all fun, and I scrap as I like--most times I don't have a deadline, like an album to complete, so anything goes. I just enjoy scrapping!!
