I heard back from Sarah Moore who coordinated the AWESOME Chicago shoebox last March with tons of great prizes and goodie bags for everyone (some prizes were purchased, some donated). She gave me some great info so hopefully we will be able to do something similar!
Kathie, can you send me a quick PM and let me know who you are already working on asking for donations? Then I can compare and try to find some others to talk to.
I'm planning on coming!! I've been at all the previous ones, so I couldn't possibly miss this one. I'll get going on my registration, and I know at least one more person that's planning on coming too.
I was at the event last year (my first year) and had a blast. Definitely coming this year as well. The reason I haven't sent in my registration yet is b/c I was debating on doing the individual swap as well. Just have to make up my mind if I can fit it all in! With two younger kids, I only get time to work on things after they're in bed and by that time I'm ready to crash as well! I'll get my registration in ASAP.
Laurie R-- We are getting closer to the goal - here is the catch- I only have received 10 registrations. so room is paid for and donations are filtering in, and it'll be okay.

Schrades mentioned her charity ball game; tomorrow I'm going taking elderly residents of a nursing home to the nature conservancy as part of our company's United Way campaign...let's all hope it doesn't rain tomorrow!!
And let's hope schrades doesn't get rained out, either!!

I think it might be kind of fun to play ball in the mud! I hope it doesn't rain for you though! DH is playing too (I think) and my 18 yr old said that if I actually hit the ball he will buy me a pitcher of beer for each one I hit- silly boy- that is the ULTIMATE INCENTIVE! ( well besides a stamp set- LOL!)

We had a lot of fun! We got our butts handed to us but still fun! Yes I hit the ball 4 times!! Woohoo- no base though!! LOL!! gotta play at ten today!
I am sorry to hear your event got rained out!
I'm in the process of lining up a babysitter for this event and maybe a friend or two to come along, should know by the end of the week if I can make it. It sounds like alot of fun.
