Holy cow, Steph! Where are you located? There may be a club near you. I know a few are starting up in my area (Bellingham - Lynden).
I am in Silverdale but I have stamps and will travel! Seattle is about an hour ride on the ferry and Tacoma is even less of a drive than that.
Thanks so much GarnetJ for the suggestion!!

I just saw Michelle (sf9erfan) last night and Heidi (pinkhedgehog) for a little stampin' fun..........
It would be so great to see everyone in October again. That seemed to work pretty good for me...........right in between the back to school rush and Christmas rush!!
I'll watch this thread for more info!! Thanks to all for organizing once again!!

Wahoo another SCS meet the last one in Oct was awesome! *crosses fingers hoping if it is in Oct that it won't be before a midterm* I voted Sept cause I won't be in school until the very end but I'm going to do my best to get there anyway.
I just checked the AmTrak website. Fare from Bellingham to Portland is only $29. Now, I just have to wait for the date and convince Debbie and Mary Ellen (who thunk this up in the first place) that we really want to go on the train and stay for the weekend.
Never been to a shoe box swap...lol..lol it's true... What does happen?? Is anyone going to Regionals, which they have in Oct.. They usually set the date at Convention... That's what happened to me last year...
Me Me Me........ I vote to when ever it happens. Im not really open for weekends because of work. But I can always come down with something for the night if needed. Someone please pm me since I havent had time to surf lately. Thanks Ann for letting me know about this
Anne

1. You design a project - usually a card.
2. Cut out enough pieces for 8 or 10 duplicates of your card. Sometimes you stamp them too, but more often not.
3. Type up instructions for how to stamp and assemble.
4. Put each "set" of pieces with the instructions into a sandwich bag... forming a card kit.
4. Put all the kits into a shoe box (or whatever)
We all share the boxes and make a copy of each other's cards. It's fun! And I always learn something new.
I'm so excited that I just happened to stumble across this thread! I missed the last gathering in Everett because I didn't know about it in time to sign up. I'm definitely interested in attending!
I AM SO EXCITED!!!! All I did was comment on Ann's super adorable turtle card and through her reply I find out about all the stampers near me!!! I would so love to go to a SCS gathering and meet some of you! My vote for getting together is October, but September can work too!! Thanks for letting me know about this!

Mid September please...that is my birthday time!!!!! Yipppeee! It would be sooo much fun!
Hmph. Somebody has the mistaken idea that we are planning this in order to celebrate her birthday. Heck no!! We will celebrate the birthday all on its own... always looking for an excuse, ya know! lol

RT.... I like the Will Rogers quote. Though I have known people who just change the subject whenever their age is questioned. Like, "Oh, did a cow just walk down the street?"
I'm feeling the need for a little inspiration. Anyone interested in a "bring your projects" type of stamping get-together? I have a few things I'm trying to get done (rolodex cards, photo frame, Navy scrapbook) and I'm not getting any inspiration from The Young & the Restless today. Anyone want to play?

Someone posted in CPD that SU is having a regional seminar in Portland in October. Sigh How does that affect our get together? Are we going to try to have it the same weekend? When exactly is the regional?

For all you Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, the Portland Regional is scheduled for October 12 - 13. My downline and I might be your way that weekend (we could go for the Friday Regional and attend a Saturday PNW Stampapalooza). Sure would be nice to meet you in person, Dorinda!
Hey, Dorinda, I guess the next question would be....how many attendees would this affect and if we rolled the weekend together with the SU event, would the demos really come.

I was wondering about this. What days are the regional events held? Is it all weekend? Do you think anyone would be willing to attend both?
Joyce, the Regionals are 2-days, but you only attend one day. So if we hold the swap on Saturday, they could go to the regional on Friday. Or we could hold the swap on Sunday, and the Saturday attendees could stay for Sunday. I think we need to survey the people who plan on attending and see if this is of interest to them.

I just realized that we are trying to plan the event and it's not our turn! I guess we'll wait and see what the ORYGUN girls have to say about it.........
I know I'll be down for regionals. I think it would be pretty cool to do both in a weekend. We'd have to have the date nailed down well before the signup date in August, though, so that we know which day to sign up for regionals!

I can't go to regionals this time... I'm no longer a demo. Sigh.
